BAI should try to avoid these kind of worth less expenses and provide personalised coaching and assistance to real champion players.
Sen played without any coaching last week.
Also Mulyo-Srikanth and Kim-PV is a good example of how much impact good coaches can bring in.

These are the signs of poor management. I don’t know if BAI has any metrics to measure the outcomes from every IND player on a regular basis. For me, it appears like any player/pair that attains top 32 ranking will get a seasonal pass to participate in super 500+ tournaments until they drop out in rankings. Examples being Sikki/Ponappa and Attri/Reddy. They have playing all these top tier tournaments for more than a year with no results to boast of. SK is slowly and steadily getting into this elite category.

These days it is becoming worrisome to see Indian players becoming overly dependent on coaches and their coaching methods to produce results. This is in total contrast to what I see as DNA of Indian badminton- players achieve with out any proper coaching and financial supports. To list a few- Prakash Padukone, Vimal Kumar, Gopichand, Aravind Bhat, Subhankar Dey.......

All this being said, it is impressive to see how LS is shaping up. The win last Sunday, without a coach, after losing g1 needs special mention.

Good coaching is really important these days, I saw in the Kento Momota thread the insane amount personal assistance and analysis provided to him. Tai tzu ying also has high quality coaching, she also under goes good recovery traits, massages and all. When everyone is having it our players also need it.

Srikanth’s case is not the same, he suffered a continuous string of injuries and he wasn’t able to train at the highest level, he showed signs of improvement during Indian Open but then injured again. I hope he improve again.

I never disputed the importance of coaching. Do you think KM will slip out of top 10 if Nakanishi or Park quits? You must see how KM elaborates his match experience, how he keeps finding areas to improve, even from matches where we thought he won relatively comfortable. That’s the self coaching acumen one should develop to be a champion. At this point, I remember MF words that goes like “Coaching can only get a player into top 10. Becoming a champion material depends on the player alone”

Then why did he choose to compete at the highest level?

Nope he won't. Yes its useful if Indian players also get similar support if not more.

Unfortunately that kind of fire/aggression is lacking in current Indian players. I hope Sen has it.

Its important not confuse poor form to poor potential.
May be he can improve and recover by playing a few games than not playing any.

Has Fireball Academy of Chennai partnered with Peter Gade Official Academy. Watch the first four videos in the below link . Good to see Tamil Nadu too coming into picture. Sankar Muthusamy, promising junior trains at this academy.

There is one more promising player in TN - Satish Kumar though he is not from Fireball. His national ranking is 2 and 6 in MS and XD respectively and state ranking 1 in MS.

Yeahhh watched his game in WJC this year. Liked his style of play. I think with more patience and maturity in his game, he'll become better.

Manu Attri/ Sumeeth teddy has been playing for years wasting sponsors' money and others' money for nothing.
This is their nth time losing in first rounds and they think they are world beaters.
Have to learn from their compatriots and juniors, how to play badminton. They dont even want to separate and see what each of them can do.

May be some players just don't have it in them, they play for fun not to win.

Don't say like that :(:(. Sumeeth Reddy is a protective husband, he wants to go with Sikki Reddy everywhere.

The question is why is Sikky allowed to play in tournaments? Shouldn't she be banned from entering badminton court?! I mean what's point of playing after attaining legendary status

Then how could the coaches teach their students on how not to play or how not to committ unforced errors if Sikki is not playing :D ? BAI is doing a very good job in making her play. I would gladly watch Sikki legendary forehand serve than watch LYD JJS vs CY FHF glory moments

Wow!! I never thought Sikky would be that useful. 4D chess from BAI in making her play.

I would give 11/10 for that serve. What a sight to behold
