I was eagerly waiting for Ginting to go there and shake Lee's hands but I can empathise with him what was going on his mind after the last point.

I think its a wrong call when I look and pause the video closely

BUT.. At closer inspection.. Maybe the umpire was right. 1.jpg

I think its tough for him to do that given the circumstances. But he is composed and did not rant on court. Gotta give him a thumbs up for that

As an Indonesian, very happy that LCY won this.
Hope this can inspire Hong Kong citizens to stop with the demonstration, and back to focus on sport or other sectors

No, it wasn't a fault. Ginting hit the shuttle on his side of the court and the racket or his body didn't touch the net. His foot wasn't over the net either.

OK. But then from her judgement I would think those are shots that she will normally would have hit. She really had poor judgement and that can only be attributed to tiredness.

I think the reason why RI just lost it was because she lost the mental side. She had a lead in the 3rd game and if she followed with the strategy she could have probably extended it. But then mistakes crept in and chen yufei knew she can capitalize on this and start playing with renewed energy. Then of course after losing points after points suddenly the h2h crept in and she just lost it.

That's one thing that momota is good at. Game management. The moment you give someone a sniff, you reduce the chance of winning.

Mistakes really changes games. Imagine if she did not make the mistakes she made at the start of the 3rd set.

Of course the fact that she called for the medics probavly also gave cyf hope.

    He has qualified.

Catching up from 6-13 behind, and against a better player of the match. It wasn't an easy task.. it was a great disappointment and painful decision by the umpire.

Frankly, it's the worst of time for the umpire to make such a close decision. I'd rather it's a call made by a machine, such as Hawk-Eye, if possible, less controversial. For borderline cases, even video review can be disputed.

Anyway credit to ginting. He really played well with few of the silly mistakes.

Congrats to LCY for winning his biggest title. This will at least calm the rioters. The HKG peoples should be happy. Also, credit goes to ASG for fighting till the end. Too bad, he was robbed (imo) at the last point. It's too much for him to swallow and LCY had to approach him. I really feel for him. In the end, the two players hugged each others.

Yeah i believe so, i mean if i personally was the umpire i will give the point to ASG. Just "maybe" the umpire had seen what we can't or.. he just made wrong call

    judge for yourself, calmdown

LCY seems to do really well in HKO. He's been nothing but brilliant in this tournament. Congrats to him.

It wasn't the first time that umpires making wrong decisions. Unfortunately it was at match point this time.
Quite hard to swallow for Ginting and his supporters (me included), should be understandable.
LCY would have still won the match, but at least it wouldn't hurt as much..
