Whatever you do it is best to try them first and I mean give them a really good test in a store. Do plenty of badminton movements, test their ability and comfort how you intend to use them. Feet are sensitive and some trainers have stitching or other material in the wrong place for you foot shape. The insoles will be rubbish so replace them with good quality insoles that support your feet. The low end shoes tend to have plenty of room so you can add quite thick insoles. It doesn't matter what exact trainer but you can find bargains by buying older versions of the same trainers if they are still available in your size - for example Power Cushion 34 (probably none left), 35 (might still be some available) or 36 (new for 2018/19) will be almost identical - they are just the same basic shoe with some styling tweaks. I also don't find any difference in the construction of the soles until you reach the upper models with carbon fibre plates. There are models of shoes available that you can't find in Europe and vice versa. Some people love their cheap Carlton trainers which tend to be the same price online as yonex 35, in the UK. APACS make some interesting looking trainers and can be found as cheap or even less. The styling might not be to your taste though.
My suggestion would be to invest in good pair of shoes than spending more on racket. Yonex shb 55 is also a good shoe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it is for making it more durable against the sliding action we have to do with the non racket foot. But I maybe wrong and if I am please correct me.
Victor is a good brand for Badminton, and their quality is comparable to Yonex. In my opinion, Victor shoes are more durable than Yonex's.
shoes are the most important equipment, invest in a good pair. Low end shoes either dont provide adequate cushioning, prevention of injury or grip on court. And yonex low ends for me are always so bulky and hard, its as if you can never break them in
Victor SHA950CA. Price range around the same as SOAR. Look good with black & white color (personally) & so far had no issue. For note, before i use any cheap badminton shoes. Before i got heel pain after my games, getting myself a gel insole makes me feel better but as its higher around the heel, it become less stable & feel like im about to rolling my ankle alot. Its an old shoes & starting to ripping apart. I think its about times to get new one. So im kinda curious to try an expensive one with much better tech on it. The choice come down to SHA950CA. The magic happen, i didnt feel any heel pain after my games & my foot doesnt feel as tired as before after my badminton days.
