    ROUND OF 16 (11.00am) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...74F318-A951-4C8F-9451-5DA3F33DF6C3&d=20200109

    • Huang Yuxiang and local star Lee Zii Jia score big headline in MS opening round, the average Huang stuns Anthony Ginting who managed runner up in Guangzhou Final recently in two straight games, 21-16 / 22-20. Just wondering about this match since BAM live streaming was error, inconsistency problem or less practice during the holiday may cause the effect Ginting early exit here. Earlier on court 1, Lee ZJ fulfills his promise to beat the inspiring Anders Antonsen in three games, taking opening game smoothly the Dane couldn't keep his rhythm in second game and got outright flop in third game, 8-21.
    • In replay of last year final, the Olympic Champion Chen Long avenges his defeat to Son Wan Ho who still trying to regain his best. Shi Yuqi made good start in this new season, eliminates the in-form Wang Tzu Wei, 21-12 / 22-20. Former All England champion is back gradually, just some aspects are quite mediocre, in terms of his netplay, defense and accuracy. Other top guns, Kento Momota, Viktor Axelsen and Chou Tien Chen ease past their opponent, the latter outplays former world number one Kidambi Srikanth with stunning scoreline, 21-5, the Indian suffers the sustainable deteriorating form.
    • Chen Yufei, Ratchanok Intanon and Nozomi Okuhara need to dig deep before securing their last sixteen spot. Okuhara fails to convert four match match points, 20-16 and delaying her victory into third game against the qualifier, HKG veteran Yip Pui Yin, a unpredictable circumstance. One of top contenders Carolina Marin starts her 2020 campaign to beat Akane Yamaguchi, 21-4 / 23-21, what happened in opening game that forced Yamaguchi only scoring four point, possibly she couldn't control the drift well in this windy stadium.
    • A disastrous outcome for Jordan/Oktavianti who playing like rookies to produce tons of errors, miscommunication, lack of creativity, lost to home qualifiers, the inexperienced young pair Man WC/Pearly Tan KL, 18-21 / 13-21.

    The 'average Huang' is capable of springing quite a surprise now and then, as Momota discovered at the Indonesia Open last year. Actually, Momota's defeat in R2 was the most shocking loss for him in 2019, particularly as he considered himself to be in good form at the time. Both players may have the chance to meet up again at the QF stage of this tournament and, this time, Momota will be out for revenge.

    Yup, I watched LIVE at stadium last year then he lost to Kantaphon in next day with two straight-games, perhaps Huang YX only studying top 10 players.

    Hmm, ... unlike Shida/Matsuyama who are looking in rather good form at the moment. Can they finish the job?

    I expected Chen/Jia to lose to ShidaMatsu but don't think it could be that bad :confused:. Maybe they're not familiar with ShidaMatsu :confused: Look forward to their next meeting :cool:

    I mean, its not like the chinese played poorly, right? Its just that they can’t handle Shida’s pressure I think.

    World number one and top seed Chen/Jia ousted by Japan #4 Matsuyama/Shida, 15-21 / 12-21. The Chinese duo look helplessly, committing many errors in suprising short duration of WD match.
