I meant happy in the sense LYD had a poor 2019 after making a comeback in 2018. And toppling no.4 seed while out of form and reaching quarters of super 500 deserves praise. So LYD beats KamSon 10 times
CHN sending 6 MD pairs.., for what? lol .. its fine if you can win a title but mostly, its waste of money.. 5 already got knocked out.. Ironically their best hope for a QF is if 4 of their pairs are in the same quarter of the same quarter which ensure a QF spot. shouldnt be happening.
Wow...the award-winning Marin-wannabe screaming wunderkin trounced by Saina in straight games. Perhaps not as promising as advertised...
Don't you think it's too harsh on ASY ? She's so young and you're saying like this. Perhaps, you would like to see in to her performances of last year and stop criticising her.
No I don't think so at all. If you believe the hype, then she should have run roughshod over Saina. Or is age a valid excuse for a 17-year old to be thrashed by a 29-year old? You can't suck and blow at the same time.
She has beaten Saina in previous ocassion. What was your take back then ? Or can we expect a top player to win always let alone a 17 yo girl. I think you're too harsh on her. Better we look at positives. Those who are overhyping will get to know what's in store.
There you go with the age thing again... what does it have to do with whether she wins or not? Do you think the line judges or umpire will give her extra points because she's 17? Last time ASY beat Saina, she wasn't even top 20 and Saina was top 10, so that's something. Now ASY is #9 and Saina is #11, so that's not the same thing at all.
Li Wenmei/Zheng Yu's game would be much easier if Zheng Yu can fix her serve. It's her problem quite a long time. She gifts way to many points with her service error and invites opponents to smash with the high serve.
All I'm saying is one defeat doesn't tell how the player is. Rankings doesn't matter much tbh as these two players are separated by 2 ranks or so. You can't expect a 17 yo girl to have so much consistency.
Relax, no matter how talented ASY is she's still 17 years old...inconsistency is expected. she lost against russeli and he bingjao convincingly after that french open win so what
Saina Nehwal, experience, more experience, and maturity triumphed over child prodigy who is yet to come of age but has shown huge potential. Time will tell. Remarkable performance by the veteran, esp in G2, the way she controlled the rallies. ASY seemed lulled into playing SN's game, not seizing the initiative to attack much, which she is capable of. Perhaps she's thinking of using the same tactics she employed to stun Marin previously but it didn't work this time.
