With today's result, both Fajar/Rian and Ahsan/Hendra losing in SF, minions should be safe in their road to Tokyo. They can relax a a bit. Though I hope they can defend their title next week, and their winning records in Istora too.
Fajar/rian seems to be doing well when they're the underdog, but once they feeling the pressure, they almost always fail to deliver. actually make me appreciate minions even more. hopefully they would be doing better at indonesia masters next week.
Is there any point for AhsanHendra? Man i thought actually if Daddies win, they are ever closer to Minions. Not sure how to feel about this lol, just want the consecutive WR1 to be as long as possible. to be in the record books, eternally.
For WR points, there won't be any additional points for Ahsan/Hendra either. There would have if they reached the final or win the title. I don't know about Tokyo qualification total points though because I am not calculating their points. For minions, they lost 1400 WR points this week for not winning the title here btw.
For me : 1. AG final 2018 vs fajar/rian 2. CO SF 2016 vs chai/hong 3. AE SF 2017 vs mads/mads 4. JO SF 2019 vs li/liu 5. Dubai SSF SF 2017 vs kam/son Their match against fajar/rian in indonesia masters last year were also one of my favorite, but sadly it's not on TV court.
My favourite is MO2017 (against LiLiu) , they were trailing the whole match G1 G2 G3 yet ended up winning (probably because i am in the stadium too). Second will be CO16 against ChaiBiao/HongWei, they were trailing the whole of that match too. Fiery match against LiLiu at JO last year and HKO 2017 and definitely the AsianGames Final. The rest is probably against Conrad/Kolding at AE17. The one against KamuraSonoda is Dubai SF is not bad but not particularly interesting, just a long gruelling match. But i'd say matches are not just when they won. I think some top matches when they lost. Lost close ones against ChaiHong, ChoiSeo ..Won tight one against them too (and also at AG against InoueKaneko almost lost), so you win some you lose some. In the end only the title matters.
JO 2019 and SSF 2017 video is probably blocked in your country, you need to use VPN if you want to watch it.
Thanks. It's weird Sony India pictures blocked this video here in India. Have to find it in app then. Will use VPN for JO and SSF.
Your list has great matches. AG final against Fajar/Rian is also the best for me. Fajar matched Kevin in front-court, even outplayed him few times. But the minions somehow managed to win coming from behind. I would also include the match against Li/Liu at Indonesia Masters 2018 finals as one of my favourites. It had everything including drama, controversy and Kevin's famous antics. Play hard. Train harder.
I will include last year WC defeat against Choi/Seo tbh, they lost the match but man what a rollercoaster of emotion that match was. Choi's tactic, Minions struggling all the match etc2. Not only them, but all of their fans must be feeling really really depressed. Everyone thought that this is their year to finally win WC, but they lost against a no name young KOR pair. When Gideon threw his racket, it was all over. Your number 2 & 3 are their greatest match for me.
WC 19 was a great match especially G3. Very impressed with Kevin on how he handled his emotion there. Though sadly the same thing can't be said about their next encounter in CO. Kevin no longer could hold back his emotion especially near the end of G3 Anyway one tournament down in 2020, one more to go in two days. Minions will play Ellis/Langrigde in R1 and winner of Hoki/Koba vs He/Tan. Heard that Watanabe withdrew from IM too, and thought Kobayashi withdrew from MM but can't be sure if he withdrew from IM. Seems like there are many players (including the JPN) withdrawing from IM.
Yay go go minions! https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8890 Kevin/Marcus is targeting to defend their title Marcus : Our target is to win, we want to defend our title. More over there are many supporters here, we don't want to disappoint them who have come from afar to cheer for us. (About their defeat to Fajar/Rian in Malaysia Masters) I will be satisfied with any outcome, because I always give my best. We lost narrowly last time. Fajar/Rian played well, they were more prepared.
