I think Ahsan like Sukamuljo plays at a suicidal pace. Like Sukamuljo overwhelms with his movement, Ahsan's shot selection and speed of play is overwhelming. And when he plays at a below average version of himself,it exposes Setiawan's defensive weaknesses while Ahsan playing near his capacity makes Setiawan the ruler on the court.

If its not significant , why bother to watch the tournament whether on TV or in the internet? why get so worked up about it?

Obviously, there 17 or 18 big titles to be won every year. you can make your mark in any of it.

and even if number of titles are put aside, most players still lose out in money earned taking into inflation as the barometer of most successful players

why so serious. just sit back and enjoy the matches.

ps : prize $ announced by BWF do not include individual player endorsement/sponsorship deals.

Didn't look confident with his smashes today. Raised his game and momentum in the second game after the interval.

    I would say, average.

I can’t say I agree that Ahsan’s speed of play is overwhelming, there are other players that play faster than him imo. But even if what you say is true, I think he has become a lot more consistent in recent years. Of course there’ll be ebbs and flows, but I don’t recall seeing a truly terrible Ahsan since last year (minus that physically strained China Open Ahsan).

I agree that Setiawan’s defence is a huge weakness, it’s been covered up by their superb play to obtain the attack before their opponents... so far

And hendra's defense being exposed yet again. he's simply too error prone nowadays especially when the tempo become faster. you could see minions having a hard time penetrating ahsan's defense but as soon as they target hendra, BOOM...easy point. minions must be pretty happy that they get to play daddies instead of fajar/rian.

back to the training ground for the Daddies. still have time to work on their weakness before Tokyo (should be going there if no mishaps).

Playing tempo at Musashino forest will help them more than playing at Istora.
