Just in case any fans weren't aware of the fact, Higashino features in the March edition of "Voce", a beauty/fashion magazine. What do you think of these?
Well, to be honest, my reason for loving Japanese players is not because of their looks, and my opinion remains unchanged. Currently, the only people with good looks are Momota and Aya Ohori. Some other players, like Yuki Fukushima, are cute, but not good looking. These photos are good, but I don't think Arisa is good looking. I love her energy, speed and powerful smashes though.
If you hadn't said that this is Arisa, I wouldn't have recognized her at all. No chance. There is so much Photoshop going on that this could in fact be any random Japanese woman. And without any means of being rude, but she's definitely not the type that you would describe a classic beauty. But I have to say, she has an aura an personality that matches her look and (at least to me) makes her quite attractive and very likeable. And sadly, I don't even see a glimpse of that those beauty/fashion pictures so imo, they are a complete fail.
As you point out, Higashino is not a classic beauty by any stretch of the imagination; I think that the purpose of the magazine is to show the potential contrast in appearance when sportswomen are 'in action', and when they aren't. This particular series focuses on athletes who are likely to feature in the Olympics, and Higashino followed a footballer and cyclist. .... "Any random Japanese woman" could be taking things a little far. I think that Higashino's exuberant character shines through in these pictures; moreover, I also think that it is refreshing to see her in a different light. And let's face it, had the magazine simply been aiming for beauty, then Ohori or Fukushima would have been more natural choices.
My remark was solely related to the amount of photoshop work that has been done to the pictures, mind you. I know this is standard in the fashion business, but imo it's often the case that the pics or the models on those pics lose their certain something in the process. In the end it's another matter of taste. But I agree that it's always nice to get to see see a side of a person that you normally wouldn't imagine.
Well, I am just truthfully say my opinion, she is cute. Anyways, for Momota, he would smash. Which he did.
Everyone has their opinion. I assume u fancy powerful pair of legs then? I really like Nozomi, especially when I first saw her play vs Marin in Hong Kong Open 2015 (I think) which she narrowly lost. I thought she was very determined and focus and inspirational. However, I have notice that she actually mentality more fragile than she appears. Also, the publicity and social media seems to distract her quite a bit. She is too reliant on the self talk routine, appearing as she has super resolution, but psychologically, it's not helpful. Basically her mind is polluted with positive thought, which ironically becomes a barrier for her to cross into the "flow" domain of execution. Momota is the polar opposite. He is rarely show anything outside (either flamboyant reactions, fist pump or scream after every point, or looking up while praying). However, the man is in flow most of the time. I know this psychological problem isn't unique to Nozomi, as I see Ohori, Arisa, Mayu Matsumoto, Endo and many others are having it. If Mayu Matsumoto overcome her psychological block, she would dominate WD like never before. Interestingly, I think Tai Tzu Ying is being distracted too much with social media. What I think would be more helpful is to focus on physical routines more, such as breathing, would improve Nozomi result much better.
Even Marin does that screaming, self talking thing. It could be introvert/extrovert thing as well, Nozomi is an extrovert and Kento, Akane are introverts.
