I bought this racket on 30/9/2018 and The feel by scratching the cone and shaft code matches with my Arcsaber 11.

Also compared the cap colour with my old Arcsaber 11. I am concerned because the DDMMYXCC is 08-08-8 , 8 is for 2018 I guess, but racket wasn't not even released in August is the date date of manufacture ?. And X is 2, so that means revision/generation is 2?

@Carbonex_7 Please help me identify if it is a genuine product or not. Many thanks for helping out so many people.

    Racket model: Yonex astrox 99
    Shaft serial: 9482832
    Cone code: 080882SP
SOURCE: Rohit Sports Bengaluru, India. (It was recommended by a lot of people in various badminton groups, this was my first purchase from this shop that's why the distrust)
PRICE: USD 196 without string, 14000 INR
    ---->8----(include this line)

If this is a fake one can you please tell me the exact reason why it is a fake one so I can demand a refund from the shop ?

PS: My old Arcasaber broke, I played with it almost everyday for 3 years in my university team BG80P 28lbs. I regret buying this Astrox 99 as it's very stiff and doesn't give the buttery smooth feeling that the ArcSaber 11 had. I have also played with my coach's ZF2 for about 1 year and I personally liked it far more than Astrox 99.

100% genuine racket. Date is manufacturing date not release date. You have to manufacture, stock up before launching. AS99 is a completely different racket to Arc 11 in terms of specs, design and material use, and a lot head heavier than Arc 11.

    Thanks for confirming that.
Yeah I knew that Astrox 99 is very different from Arcsaber but I bought it anyway because it was the latest release :p , maybe my experience can help someone else decide. In my opinion Astrox is not a fun racket to play with, it requires more skill/technique or work from the player whereas Arcsaber is just so smooth.

Before buying a racket I check the shaft and cone code(valid DDMMY) should be laser engraved, butt cap colour should match one of my old rackets. The shape of O of yonex , and the serial code on sunrisetnt.com .
Do you mind sharing what else can be done identify the fake or genuine ? Also if possible can you please share how you go about identifying a fake or genuine product. Have you considered writing an article or video explaining this so you don't have to answer so many requests for people.

    Thank you for your help.

Generally, knowing the source, cone code, fonts and check the serial number online would be enough to identify 90% of the fake racket in the market and most importantly, do not expect to pay cheap for a top end racket, then you won't get yourself into problem. Of course, there are other ways to identify the racket which I do not plan to share in forum. Fake manufacturers have ears and eyes in every major badminton forum and they know how to improve their quality of making fakes. I think we come very close to the extent that we might not be able to identify a high quality fake base on photos alone, I have seen some latest fakes in other forum that almost get me into believe it is authentic.

Hi, I finally updated my cheap Carlton I first purchased for the below racket. The difference on first use is quite apparent. However after checking other pictures online it looks like the cone is slightly different on mine. Also on most other websites it is considerably more. Please see link : https://www.tennisnuts.com/shop/bad...uJDsZXkp-VWowpriOeDtiLS6kFnzvcDBoC8DEQAvD_BwE

Please can anybody help me out with:
    1) is this fake or genuine?
    2) if genuine why is the come slightly different (older model)

    Racket model : Yonex Astrox99
    Shaft serial : 4105892
    Cone serial : 190300JP
    source : Facebook market place
    Price : £65

Please see pictures of the racket I purchased. Any help or additional info is more than welcome.

    Thanks in advance.
    David
