As expected, and I strongly suspect it's also an indication the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be postponed (to next year most probably as postponing to last quarter of the year is not a viable option for summer sports) or possibly cancelled this year.

We won't hear anything about Olympic qualification from BWF until we know what happens with the Olympics

I suspect BWF already predicts about Tokyo 2020 fate, they reschedule TUC to 15th-23rd August, it's really impossible for badminton players to perform best in two major events in very close time slot.

Good observation, your point sounds plausible. I myself am quite certain Tokyo 2020 will be postponed or canceled.

With the current condition, it is rather unthinkable if the Games is not postponed

There's amendment (24th November 2020) about Continental Championships/Continental Multi Sports Games - Individual Championships Ranking Point : https://corporate.bwfbadminton.com/statutes/#1513733528967-47d667b6-0737
    upload_2020-12-2_12-23-56.png

    It can be translated :
    Badminton Asia Championships/Asian Games : 9,200 (previously) to 12,000 (started 2021)
    European Championships/European Games : 7,000 to 9,200
    Pan Am Championships/Pan American Games : 5,500 to 7,000
    Africa & Oceania Championships
    : 4,000 (NOT CHANGED)

Such an irony considering almost all world's best badminton players are concentrated in Asia but sadly it seems this association doesn't have capability to organize their event instead of cancellation:rolleyes:

Meanwhile EMTC - Europe Mixed Team Championships 2021 have revealed their 8 qualifiers for Final Round in Vantaa (FIN), 16-20 February 2021 : http://www.badmintoneurope.com/cms/default.aspx?clubid=4685&cmsid=239&pageid=5381&m=8419123

    1) Denmark - defending champion
    2) Finland - host nation
    3) England
    4) Russia
    5) Netherlands
    6) Germany
    7) France
    8) Scotland
