I have both in 3U. For me 90k is more powerfull and feel abit numb. I used the 98k for about 1 week. Its stiffer ,more solid and faster to swing and have good power, but 90k is easier to generate power bcs more hh and flexier.. just a personal review. May differ from the other here
Hmm for me its more like the feedback. When i do a powerful shot with 90k, it doesnt feel that solid and powerful, make you think the shot is not poweful and not statisfied with it..
Both are excellent double racquets. Its just the 98k have a more solid feeling and faster..90 is abit slower(the frame is abit thicker at the side and more hh) and i found it pack more punch for rearcourt double.
Okay, thanks. But the way u say it gives me the feeling that the 98K performs better in doubles all round aside from rearcourt. But because the 90k offers a little bit more power it would be better for singles. or would u say that the 98k can be used for singles too? It may be harder to hit continuous smashes and long clears. I will give some more info on my question. My real question is, what is the better option if I play both singles and doubles. At the moment I use a slightly headheavy racket thats extra stiff. But to be honest the extra stiffness gives me trouble with returning continuous backhand clears, the racket is quite fatiguing. I am looking for something a little more forgiving and faster. I like to play on the attack with half smashes and fast pushes and drives.
Well if your option is only 98k and 90k, i would suggest 90k for singles and doubles. Its more like an allrounder for me, slightly HH and not that stiff when you play it. I play mostly doubles all the time, but i think you can use both racquest for singles, but its easier to generate power with 90k.. i found that its more comfortable to use 98k for front and midcourt doubles bcs of the faster speed, 90k is also good just abit slower. The only thing i hate about 90k is the feedback, which feel numb. If you have a chance to try both racquets, i suggest you try it first and see which one work for you.
I have the the option to choose all victor rackets, but i dont like the thruster and drive series. thanks for youre advice
For me Drivex9x and 90K is better option for double player compare to 98k, except you are fast front double player then go to 98k..
Personally dont like the Drivex9x, feels slower. the racket just gives me the feeling that it is: okay at all parts of the game.
If you play single and double 90k 3U is better for you. Because for me 90k 4U not suit for single at all. But if you like more stiff, fast and solid feel, 98k also good option.
For me good 90k 3U good for both 98k 3U 65% double 35% single 90k 3U 55% double 45% single 98k 4U 90% double 10% single 90k 4U 70% double 30% single
Thabnks ! 90k 3u isnt available for me unfortunately. So im between 90k 4u or 98k 3u. I will test them both soon when I get the chance to get back on court again.
from my experience, the difference between 90k 3u vs 90k 4u is the weight of the handle is lighter on the 4u. The graphite parts of the two rackets are pretty much identical. So, all you would need to do is add a layer of electric tape over the grip of the 4u, which will add 4g and that will make the racket a 3u. You can put this layer of electric tape on the wood, or just underneath the overgrip.
I have recently tested Drive 9X and Auraspeed 98. Sadly Victor have not sent me a 90K. I will be completing my video review soon and then writing my review. I managed a 1 minute hit with 90K. It's hard to gather my thoughts on such tiny hitting time. Heavier than 90S and a lot closer to Jetspeed 12 in weight. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I have a 4u Auraspeed 98K. I tried to find 3u version, but my regular shop only carry 4u at that particular time. Had dry swing and fell in love with how the racket feel. I would say it is built for doubles. AS98K feels like upgraded version of nanoray 900. I could not really compare to other victor series, as i was using yonex rackets most of the time. I was interested in AS98K because I never had a high end victor racket before, it is headlight (more towards even balance to me), stiff shaft (just like Nanoray 900), and its design (paint and decals). Managed to use it for one session (strung with AB @ 27x29 lbs), and then lockdown happen in Malaysia due to Covid-19. From the session i had, I was surprised how swift the racket swing. AS98K shines at net-play and fast drives, where shuttle returns were easy to predict with high accuracy. Defending smashes were a breeze. Smashes gave decent punch although the racket being lighter on the head. What i like the most is how solid the feel you can get from the string bed, as well as instant whip effect from the racket. AS98K is one of the best racket that worth buying. One of the stiffest racket that i have tried, and really enjoyed it. If you like mid to headlight racket with stiff shaft, consider this racket a try. In a nutshell, this is how i would rate AS98K (this is purely personal opinion).
