Hey folks! Covid-19 is wrecking havoc all around the world, stringing services are down and we are, at least most people have a Shelter In Place order to help prevent the spread of this deadly virus. To all the people who have lost a loved one, my heart goes out to you, I know now it a trying and most difficult time for a lot of people, but let's come together as a stringing community to learn from each other and make stringing fun and informative for EVERYONE who wants to learn. Let's post videos here and learn from others! Even if they are old videos, there might be something learned from them so let's make a thread to help us become better stringers! I hope we can keep it going!! Domo Arigato, Mister Roboto!
Almost under 17 minutes. Enjoy Yonex pattern with an AK twist. Pulling off the reel and saving as much string as possible.
Mark Lawrence Master Class, one of the leading stringers in England as well as Mark Lever. I would say Koyo Ng is the man to see in Canada, Kevin Yamaguchi is the USA guy, Maurice Niesner in Germany, José Manuel Almeida in Portugal, Tim Willis in Poland @calm balm in Sweeden, Kenichi Nakahara Japan, Antonio Sotelo Peru, Halim Malaysia a few top stringers in the world.
well if anything, i noticed there are more and more ppl doing 1-ahead soft weave than say 5-6 yrs ago. It used to be no one was doing soft weave at all, now almost everyone does it. Including the videos above!
I think I always did it or sometimes string more ahead, I think you have a video of me doing it maybe it is 8 years old =)
Weaving one ahead has only upsides imo. It’s faster, more smooth and -most important- reduces the risk of a misweave. I don’t see a single reason NOT to do it.
as far as I remember, you do weave ahead 4 strings but not 1-ahead. they are very different edit: oh i do see you do some 1-weave, and some multi weave ahead. but your finger are so strong and so fast, it doesn't really make much of a difference compared to us mortals!
Stringing a soft tennis racket at 15 pounds!! This guy is crazy! My knots are I think Wilson Pro Knots
I never went more than one ahead. I think starting and staying any odd number ahead puts more string into the frame - and less on the floor - but getting the head start meant "neutral" (not soft, not hard) weaves and more chance of non-recoverable twists.
This is my experience as well, three is not as fast because it is more 'neutral', and will have more twists so you need to be more careful. One is perfect.
I never pre-weaved the first shared hole at the top, either; I stopped before it and took the hard weave next time. And got rid of all the slack before feeding the string through the opposite hole - pulling a string through two "difficult" grommets is a one-way ticket to Twist City, Arizona.
