Guess we have really different view points of technique, I always found him mediocre (compared to other pros, ofc). Never really enjoyed watching him play, for some reason his overall play isn't very attractive to watch for me. Maybe in part because of his slightly unusual footwork. Imop he's not even close to players like Ginting, Momota in terms of technique. His attack from the deep forehand corner is pretty good though, good power and accuracy down the line and a very nice angle on the deceptive cross. Really gave AA trouble with that, especially because AA apparently couldn't get decent length on his lifts to save his life...
I'd abbreviate his name as LZY (Lim Ze Young, that's how he's called in the report as well) to avoid confusion with Zhao Yunlei
we read diff reports then anyway understand the possible confusion https://corporate.bwfbadminton.com/integrity/hearing-panel-decisions/ https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/d...ision of the IHP - BWF v ZYL - 19122020VF.pdf
So happy to see Intanon get through to R2. Yeo had a good chance to cause an upset! Anyone have streaming links for the tournament for after the BWF does their 10?
Dont know why this young Thai pair is a huge underdog against Attri/Reddy (1.02 v 11). What a joke. One of the easiest wins ever.
Antonsen's footwork doesn't look smooth today. Sometimes too slow, sometimes too rushed (too much body weight transfer).
Yes that's what I'm referring to with the mediocre. I just don't find him that impressive overall, not a player I'd use as a demonstration for textbook technique if you know what I mean. Solid, sure, but never ever in the Top5 for my money.

Why so much shitting on Daren Liew? He's so aesthetically pleasing to watch. I think he, like Goh V Shem, has some of the most beautiful hitting motions (always looking effortless, body always in perfect balance, etc).
AhsanHendra havent lost their 19-19 (Deuce touch) with the second one today with yesterday. I actually expected a rubber match with ShettyRR to win, so its good that AhsanHendra still can compete.
