I almost forgot..maybe because of pandemic. Mediocre at best. As the yonex Thai open 2021 has painfully revealed. Even with the absence of China, Japan and top Indonesian players, we cannot rise.

well, it is the "you know who are they" that do not want most of the malaysian national players to rise up and be like retired LCW, and you should know Malaysia's certain policies that make their country never able to improve no matter how we develop...

actually during this period (9th May 2018 - 1st March 2020), the BAM can have its chance to reform themselves as the government on that period would able to provide better benefits to any players who motivated to achieve themselves. Unfortunately, they not just failed to do so, they cannot even able to best the ex-national players who turned to be independent players and still better experience than the young players...

Taiwanese, Thais, Koreans and Danes were all better than us that was so clear in Thailand last 3 weeks. We were beaten by the Indians, French, English.. Russian uncles.. you name it.. disgrace disgrace. Watching them play, don't think we will improve anytime soon. Goodbye Malaysian badminton

don't blame the players, blame the national badminton managements for not making players improve, lack of training, lack of motivation to win, and of course, unfair treatment towards the players especially based on the players' sxxn cxxxrs...

IMO, i dont think AC/SWY will be as good as KKK/TBH..AC is a good, SWY is very unconvincing.

TEY/OYS is ok but somehow during critical moment towards the end of set they are not able to finish the game.

GZF/IZZ showing some potential but still behind them.

In overall, MAS got a pair that can compete for semis, but not deliver titles.

except for a couple of exceptions.. its been like this for the last maybe 20+ years....so what else is new?
in itself this is not the problem. The real problem is, other nations, one by one has overtaken us. Taiwanese... Thais.... India.... Japan...England... countries we used to swat away like flies traditionally

Lol what's the rush? Sacking olympic contenders with the olympics around the corner? Shame that MAS might have more independent than BAM players representing the nation at the worlds biggest sporting event.

these players are the best we have.

it's clear our system isn't working for years. we just hope some exception talent came up.

currently all those new strong nation have strong club base, like Thailand, Japan and Taiwan.

our state association system just isn't working.

    club is like private company

state association is like government offices.

I guess we know which kind of system produce result

The timing of this, why now? No one will raise an eyebrow if this happens after Olympics or even the qualification.

I suggest the BAM players need to go out and try to play some professional social games with ex-national players, retired players, state players, professional club players etc, in order to have experience that how the badminton games play like, for example below:
