TTY made many mistakes at the baseline and the net but none from 17-19 of the 3rd game onwards which secured her the victory.

We shouldnt underestimate Antonsen. He is the one who once won Momota without a coach

I put Momota as the favorite to win the Olympics for now, but who knows how Momota will play since he had the injury from the car accident from last year, and then he got covid this year. And Momota has been away from international competition for 1 year. It's hard to say what level Momota is at when he returns but if Momota can get to his 2018/2019 level of play, I think he is still the favorite to win gold at the Olympics.

I can see what Marin did but what is the different with what ChoiSeo or EllisLangridge or BoeMogensen did? which is much worst than Marin did multiple times over.

I think TTY is simply the frustrated ones. But Marin really beat her 2x is not because of antics unlike how some MD did.

Wow, Antonsen has come with the defense and consistency so far in this first set.

Wow, that in between the leg defense by Antonsen! I think Antonsen was in the zone for the first set!

Wow, a textbook first set by Antonsen! Reminds me of when Antonsen beat Momota the first time in the finals of Indonesia. I didn't expect this at all, especially given Viktor's form in the last 3 weeks.

Well, it looks like it won't be easy for Viktor. Let's see what happens in the remainder of the match.

Yup. Antonsen at his best, is able to beat Momota, and get to the finals of the WC and win the Denmark open. Antonsen at his worst, can lose to Vittinghus in 2 sets and get single digits in the second set (no offense to Vittinghus who frequents this forum, but I don't think Vittinghus at his age right now is a top 5 player in the world, despite an excellent run by him last week).

Looks like we got the Antonsen playing at his best in the first set.

A horrible start to the second set for Antonsen. But Morten Frost says Antonsen is saving his energy for the 3rd set. So who knows what will happen.

Choi/seo is definitely not worse than marin, the only annoying thing about them is choi's delayed serve.

I do remember Hans Kristian Vittinghus , in one of his social media posts asked about the integrity of a match played between two opponents of a particular country when one of them did not play at his/their best .
But Antonsen intentionally giving away the second game without even trying , and also receiving a warning from Umpire , could not come into that category?.
It is also interesting that how could BWF takes this kind of situation.
    European players are exception !.
    Boring final.

I think delayed serve is much worst.

Its like serving in tennis wishing the ball will stay in the sky forever before you hit it. what he did is not making any sense.

So that is big difference in serving compared to tennis that bwf needed to rectify and anyone can just get annoyed with him if they want to feel like they are annoyed, not just TTY with Marin.

    Marin lost?! Oh no!
    /sarcasm
I don't care how good you are.
    SHUT. UP.

Not much of interest with the thinned-out field - Prince Giraff-rey in a DEN/DEN? KOR/KOR for WD? Pass.
But at least the MD didn't go to the yawn-daddies :)

XD, though... that has the makings of a cracker.

Have to say its another problem that BWF needed to rectify. Its not just since the rally points, it has happened since the 90s during the 15 points system. Its just during live, we dont know if a player is sick or are they intentional. Will the player himself said he is intentional?

The question is, what can be done about it?
Two sufficiently skilled players can always make a thrown match look real...

I thought Axelsen was supposed to be a mixture between the second coming of Christ and Superman right now.
    Still looks very beatable, imo.

Personally I don't find his delayed serve that annoying compared to marin or ellis/langridge behaviour on the court, to each their own ofcourse.
