The anger by INA badminton fans still roaring to attack BWF social medias to express huge disappointment for painful decision. This case getting bigger and seizes attention to become hot issue suddenly in Indonesia media. Move on to Yonex All England 2021 that has arrived to quarterfinal day where the title contention begins to intensify, several big matches to pay attention will be underway this evening.
    • Much better performance in last sixteen by top-seed Kento Momota in terms of speed and self belief, the Japanese looks starting to tune in gradually to feel real competition atmosphere, showing his various strokes, usual solid defense and some disguising drop shots. If only Prannoy could apply more aggressive style rather than slow tempo play perhaps he could send more troubles for the Japanese ace. Momota will take on Lee Zii Jia who has been criticized for his uninspiring feat since January tour. Viktor Axelsen once again is forced to fight hard to prevail, Praneeth did good job to steal first game before falters in next two sets. Another title contender to book quarters spot, Anders Antonsen will meet Kanta Tsuneyama. Last Indian standing in MS department, 19 years old young prospect Lakshya Sen eyes maiden semifinal berth in prestigious event.
    • Nothing surprise to struck women's singles discipline, all go well for the seeded players, big match will highlight Sindhu-Yamaguchi clash where head to head stats favours to the World Champion but the Japanese won last three encounters. Other two intriguing matches will pit Zhang Beiwen versus Pornpawee Chochuwong and Ratchanok Intanon up against the well improved Mia Blichfeldt.
    • With INA top guns forced to withdraw, Japanese MD will be strong favourite to repeat success story this year, title-holders Endo/Watanabe plus Kamura/Sonoda are expected to go further into next round. Probably serious test will coming from Astrup/Rasmussen who did well in Basel recently and vanquished Indian challengers Rankireddy/Shetty in tight battle yesterday.
    • Former champions Watanabe/Higashino and rising stars Gicquel/Delrue will face Malaysian opponents to overcome, interesting stats display the Malaysians won their previous meetings over the Japanese and French young duo, perhaps we would see different outcome this time.

so it appears badminton england & bwf did not pay attention to the nhs rules or work with the nhs to establish clarity and avoid any problems...? if that's the case it's a major fluck up by badminton england & bwf.

btw, thailand was far from being a proper bubble. players were allowed to engage in activity 3 days after arrival.

Actually, he put up a really good fight against Momota in the finals of the All Japan Championships last December. At the time I attributed it to the fact that Momota was not 'match fit'; but you are right, Tsuneyama could well be improving. Let's see how he copes against Antonsen today.

INA NOC might bring the case to CAS ( court of arbitration of sport)

well, if this were to happen, goodbye badminton.

was there talk of NOC of each individual countries bringing the DQ case during 2012 LondonOlympic. there was talk of it if i remember but it didnt happen.

well, this is worst than that.

i think INA team basically want fairness on how the team from the 7 cases country are allowed to play. When it was positive , everyone should already be quarantined. Also, INA team already played in the hall + training hall. If they are suspect then all the athletes should be PCR retaken ,means there should be break of play.

The press conference about half hour ago,

BWF cant just hide behind NHS. Theres something that they can do instead of continuing the tournament in the pretence that everything is fine.

What part do you not understand? The BWF cannot do anything about the NHS test and trace. They cannot make deals, that was never ever EVER going to be an option. There was to be no exemptions if test and trace contacted a player no matter the damage it would do, same as there is no exemptions if they contact me. You must isolate whoever you are.

Tests on arrival were carried out by tournament organisers. As this wasn’t by the NHS, they have the opportunity to run further tests.

INA are just being cry babies. They could have came to UK 10 days before or even earlier if they wanted to. There was no tournament or law stopping them. But they took a risk and thought it would be ok. Maybe they didn’t understand fully the rules. That is their fault again. No one was ever going to not be allowed to follow NHS rules.

If you seriously think the BWF can overturn the UK Government, then you might as well stop posting in this thread tbh

so which country are you from? Why dont you tell the 7 guys team to quarantine as well ?? This is fairness and BWF can do this.

however bwf choose not to and then the news came. Too bad . The ship has to go down, it was already wrong anyway to allow these 7 to play from beginning.

remember the HK xd case when the GER pair allowed to play in ThailandOpen even though their coach is +ve. Yeah in the end that was just a pair and they are powerless. So are you a crybaby or are you a powerless.

so you think you understand more than the INA sports minister and all?

if they want to send it to NOC , no one can stop them.

and athletes will be the one that bear the brunt of all. Doubt there will be more than 5 tournaments if this were to happen this year.

You do realise that it wasn’t 7 players from Denmark with the positive tests? It was only one coach. The others had to isolate until the outcome was known. The other 6 tests were from other countries. All false positives. If INA want to cry about it then fine. Boycott or don’t turn up or whatever. Not many people miss those that behave in that way.

It seems I do know better than the INA sports minister seeing as I understand how the NHS works and no one from INA after 2 days seems to have figured it out.

Hope there is at least a good movie selection in the Crowne Plaza hotel though :p :p

I didnt say 7 players are from Denmark. But hey they are +ve. He is. Its a problem if BWF doesnt think its serious yet the whole INA team cant play.

Only you said its 6 or 7 false positive, wheres the proof? Have to take the first test as the correct ones and that means isolation.

well, if it goes to CAS , dont even hope to see many tournaments, if any.

CAS would throw the case out. BWF acted according to the UK Gov guidelines. INA knew risks and could’ve done more to prevent this situation happening but they didn’t. Not saying there is no fault with BWF as they could’ve made it mandatory to arrive super early, but they didn’t.

For the very last time. BWF can make a judgement based on tests carried out by BWF. BWF have no say over tests that are carried out by the UK GOV.
