Talking about OEMs, I remembered that yon had kept two overgrips from a box of ADIDAS overgrips that gave an interesting hint... It's from the first time Adidas was around, but I thought it was funny to find these in the same box.
Great package waiting for me today. A Wucht P8 Tokyo 4u, I cant wait to get it strung and try it out!
Don't pretend like there's no way to get it if you really want to....and it's 4U, doesn't that make you just a little curious?
Sadly it's a demo so I will need to return it unless I talk them into selling it to me! Let's see how it plays first once strung, I've only used 3u P8 previously and didn't play much while I had them.
And it looks sooooo... good..... and you know it wants you. And maybe you want it? I'm about to offer you a deal like we had with the 3U version, but it might be more complicated now. First of all, it's awesome that they offer that! Second, I think Simon will find a way if he wants to. And thanks for your pictures!
Damn, that frame looks so thick. Do you find the Wucht P8 and P7 to be slow in swing speed? @Dave1011
The 4 corner, the sword shape thing makes it look like a thick frame but when you play with it, it doesnt feel slow. For comparison from my collection In term of speed AVP>P8>TK770 Its fast but not excesive fast like AVP that would makes your timing off.
They also have smaller heads as well. My P7 swings fast if you consider the amount of feedback you get and the head heaviness. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Nice! Actually looks I lot better than expected IN those photos. And nice spec too. BUY IT. My "3U" was 86.1 38.5 dry with plastic wrap. Hoping it was labeled wrong guy rather than Adidas' QC being inconsistent. Sent from my SM-A315G using Tapatalk
I'm torn between the Uberschall F5 and Wucht P7. Can anyone compare the two? Especially in terms of speed and power. Thanks.
Others are far better placed to review the P7/P8 and compare to other rackets. I've used them briefly before but not had much time on court with them. Saying that the frame is very stable, the P7/P8 are definitely meant to be power frames but the swing speed is faster than you expect when you see the frame.
@Rimano or @DuckFeet would be best placed to compare those two rackets. My opinion after a short time with both rackets is that the F5 is a faster frame but the P7 more stable and able to produce more power overall.
@DuckFeet, both our rackets would be on the border between 3u and 4u once plastic wrap weight is considered. The 4u says 84g plus or minus 2g so at around 85g without the plastic wrap then it's within those tolerances. We will see what the specs are once strung.
Had to dig a bit to find the specs of my 3U… So the difference to your 4U is marginal. If anything, I’d love to have a low-4U.
They're both fast rackets and both offer decent power. F5 is a speed frame and is faster than the P7, whilst P7 is a solid frame with probably a higher power ceiling. Depending on your skill level the F5 may offer better accessibility to power, but the P7 is also an easy to use racket too. The two main things to take away from this racket is the hitting feel and value for money. The F5 like all speed frames suffer from feedback so if you not used to using these and come from mostly box frames, this might be a deal breaker. In UK the F5 is nearly half the cost of a P7 and this is means its amazing value for money. Coming back from 1 year of not doing any exercise I could use the F5 for the better access to power but at the same time because of my rustiness I need all the feedback I can get for my net play from the P7. @s_mair Looking at the measurements that you, @DuckFeet and I took, the p8 seems to be very consistent in its overall weight and head weight. Maybe Adidas should have not split into 3u/4u because the difference seems to be marginal.
When I was deciding on getting another P7, I'm pretty sure I came across an early catalogue that had the single weight like 85g, like the rest of their racket range. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
