I like the black and white colourway. It slightly resembles the white edition of the Nanoray Z speed but asymmetrical
of course i'll get the black and red one , bastards know how to get my money everytime i say this is the last one.
The red version of the Astrox 99 Pro design on the side of the frame reminds me of the Duora 10's box side frame. From Yonex's new video of Kento Momota looking at the color variants of the racket, he likes the white colorway of the Astrox 99 Pro.
Last weekend has been good to me to be able to play with the new Astrox 99 series rackets including the Pro/Tour/Game/Play models. Plus I got to play with Chris Adcock too! I started with the Pro racket whilst Chris used the Play Full review coming soon!
From what we've seen so far from the pro series is that they reduced the head weight and stiffness to give a faster version that is more accessible in power, albeit with a lower power ceiling. Oh and other tech with it. With the 88s pro it turned out to be too light for many though the 88d pro turned out to be a great all rounder that can still deliver heavy smashes. I'm guessing that the 99pro will either sit between the 88d and 99 but I'm having doubts since it's hard to make a racket in between their specs since they are already so close. It could be like the 88d but with added tech since the 88d is already slightly less stiffer and hh than the 99. Either way I'm looking forward to the release and the reviews.
Interestingly, there is a forth version of the 99, the "Play" version. Does it sit below the "Game"? So : Play < Game < Tour < Pro ?
I don’t think that’s the case here. I think the pro here is actually more difficult to use if the description to be believed. tungsten bumper and wider grommets sounds like a head heavier version of a 88s pro tbh
the RF was released 99pro swing weights, it's a bit les than original, I'd love the 4U weights score.
is it not the other way round? 4U 99 Pro is 88.5kg while 4U 99 regular is 85.5kg 99 Pro has very similar swing weight to VTLDF (88.5 for 4U and 92 for 3U). Though it has higher BP (311mm vs 305mm on LDF). I suspect that the head will be less top-heavy, but overall head weight would be slightly higher.
Wow you're quick! I've only had it up for 2 hours and its here already! Thank you for your support and I certainly think its the best 99 thus far. Once a sledgehammer, always a sledgehammer!
if the power assist bumper grommets carry a lot of weight, would swapping that with a normal grommet makes it less top heavy?
