Yes. It's very nice. It adds the control that I found missing with LN1, but keeps the power. Its my go to. Sent from my SM-A315G using Tapatalk
You're in for a treat my man! I've just cut the BG80/LN1 to install this setup in a second racquet. It felt harsher and marginally less control, and less repulsion! Want to try 30lb again but not sure how high I can push the AS. Eyeing up A68 mains for the next one. Sent from my SM-A315G using Tapatalk
GT5/AS passed the initial test. Didn't at any point wish it was pure AS. Can't say if power or control are same or better, because I tried this on a new racket. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
Still really enjoying GT5/AS in the S Pro. Maybe due to 68 hole pattern, it feels a LITTLE soft and control is waning slightly. Mainly hitting lifts too long and serving a bit loosely. Power has definitely increased from initial stringing to now. So my options are (other than be a better player): up tension 1-2LB, or stick with 28 and one of these: BG ABBT - nice colour match. Good reviews. Too hard? EX63 crosses - too harsh? Had a very quick go and it had the same initial hard feeling at 26, that GT5AS had at 28. BG80 mains - not a fan of BG80. It either feels too hard or too soft, never in between. Looking forward to nerfing my smash again with the fresh string.
How does GT5/Exb63 compare to BG80/LN1 and GT5/62F? I've been using bg80/ln1 at 26x28 for a while now and like it significantly more than abbt. GT5/62F I haven't been able to get fully used to, felt a tad too soft, so was wondering if pairing gt5 with exbolt increases the hardness more Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
I did try GT5/Z58 at 25lbs 10% ps. Didn't like it all. Feel dull. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
I've not tried them side by side but I'd say they have a similar feel. Exbolt definitely stiffer than 62f. Sent from my SM-A315G using Tapatalk
Been using the GT5/LN1 hybrid for 2 months now and I really enjoy it. I do feel the tension drop takes the repulsion from the string combo so its best in the first 20 hours, however I feel this way about the LN1 where I disagree with most of the LN1 users
What tension? I'd be tempted to string a little higher so its a bit harsh initially, then settles where you want it.
Never tried but im just imagine it. BG80/Eb63 - probably similar to Aerosonic. Control vs repulsion. Eb65/Eb63 - meh... Nothing special on both except for repulsion. Better all out repulsion than mixing it both.
1. Strung for a friend at 30lb. He didn't like it. I thought it would be really hard feeling, but out of my usable range so I didn't test it. Probably wouldn't recommend due BG80 durability. 2. Yes. It's quite pleasant. Sounds really weird. Like a shriek. Good power. Any combo with gt5 mains has great control for me. 3. I probably wouldn't bother! Sent from my SM-A315G using Tapatalk
I am currently playing Exbolt 63 x Aerosonic at 26 x 28. It's very repulsive and has quite a nice control to me. With only Exbolt 63, I play at 24 x 26 to get the same repulsion power since I don't have a strong shoulder.
j'ai aussi testé plusieurs combinaisons de hybrides..et finalement mon choix est.. sur gosen inferno smart avec gtone5/ exbolt63..11,1kg/12kg....puissance/ repulsion/conttol est top
Hi, I have been using BG80/Exb63 for a while now. Strung at 26 on my Astrox 77 Pro and 25.5 on Arc11P. I think as with BG80 you should always go above 26 so on my Arc11P it feels kinda mushy, specially with the “Enhance Arcsaber Frame” so I’m think I’m gonna get it restring again at 27lbs. The Astrox 77 Pro on the other hand feels awsome. Repulsion, net control and slices are all good. I have come to a surprise that it’s quite durable too. I have been playing with my 77 pro for more than 2 months and play around 10h/week so quite solid! I have play EXB65, EXB63 and BG80P and usually it only last around a month so I’m quite happy with the mix.
