I am very well aware of that. I didn't check if it would be allowed. All I am saying is that I think that would be the reason IF they do it. And since Kim has the same amount of points as Anders, it all comes down to the points of the two other players. I just assumed Søgaard's points would be lowest.

Thanks to @TheDanishAngel for the calculation. So there's still possibility that Anders/Sogaard can play as MD2, now it all depends on the coach's decision to let Kim play as MD1, it's quite risky since he just comes back.

Kim stayed home from Sudirman Cup so he could be ready for Thomas Cup. I think he had some minor injuries. Don't know what exactly.

i dont think there have been any official reason, other than lesser injuries.
Badminton Denmark just said, he stayed home to be totally fit to Thomas cup, and he would letter other players that where more fit take his spot (https://badminton.dk/2021/09/17/kim-astrup-bliver-hjemme-fra-sudirman-cup/ - in Danish).
so lets hope he is fit to fight (like players from other countries), so we get the best matches possible :-D

Kim stayed home to be totally fit, but how much is just talk, and how much is an actual injury. is hard to know before we get closer.

there is also the chance they put Søgaard/kolding in MD2 and then keep Kim/Anders in MD1.

Right, two major team championships almost back-to-back, only one week apart. The mental pressure for those who lost is harder to get over than the physical toll it takes for which a week's rest should suffice if you haven't been playing too many matches (eg, some of the Chinese players from the Olympics to the 10-over days CHN National Games to the Sudirman Cup,and next , the TUC).

Overall, at the Sudirman Cup, Team Malaysia performed creditably, above expectations. I'd consider MAS a dark horse in the Thomas Cup, the Uber Cup for lack of a strong WS, less so. Best of luck to MAS.

Wait that's true? I thought it was a joke. So they are together and therefore not taking things seriously? :/

Nan I think there is something wrong with the whole team. Maybe they were hit too hard with the pandemic

Of course ThomasCup is gonna be more competitive, Anyone can win it 5/6 countries in with a shout (and this doesnt include Korea and India). Unlike the Sudirman and Uber Cup where its either China or Japan gonna win it because the Women side of things tilt the power to those countries.

SO yeah cant wait for TC. In TC, you wont know if DarenLiew or Nishimoto will win it if they happen to face each other. There is lots of unknown factor. Denmark is favourite but is Antonsen unbeatable at any given day? He is surely the best 2nd liner so do Jonatan but you know how bad is JC form now.

We have seen that names meant nothing in Olympic and names that pop up become hero for their country like Guatemala. Surely TC could be like Olympic in my mind.

Antonsen to me is the player to keep an eye on. He has mentioned in his latest podcast that he plans to adopt a more attacking style and it was evident from the match against Ginting that he attacked much more and was very effective. I have always thought that with his height and speed it is strange to see him play a controlling game but he told this interesting story that when he was younger he was smaller than his peers so he had to go for a more counterattack based style. Personally I think he has a very high ceiling but it remains to be seen whether he is capable of going through with such fatiguing game plan for a full tournament, as he seems to always lose steam when a game goes to third set.

Even I thought that too. In what way he thought that Indonesia has strong singles considering performances of both Ginting and Christie. Even their MD1 is not unbeatable. No way , they could beat china , japan and even korea.

You mean the INA Team with the Minions who failed to perform during Olympics and Sudirman Cup; with Ginting, Christie and Alfian/Ardianto failing to perform up to their standards right now...

At least they don't need Jordan/Oktavianti to perform in a crucial situation again, this should spare them some disappointment;)
