This coach is tricky. No physical training but still have mental training. You can help the kids or tell the coach that there are no access to the match.

Nice to see new battles and rivalry between momota and syq.

Mouth watering to see the top 5 going into the ring from now. We will have danish biscuits while watching. Wakaka. Mens doubles department is a bit stale since some have retired. ;)

TANNIAH INDONESIA for winning the T CUP 2020. Lived up to their top billing. I guess losing the Sudirman Cup Q finals have woken them up a bit as not to take opponents likely as THA and TAIPEH has shown in group stages.

KEvin and Gideon got their Mojo back. But other pairs are hot on their heels and the Q final is anything to go by they are still not confident playing with Aaron Soh and Lee -Yang.

MSIA has shown that there are potential for the Juniors in the MS department. Esp Ng TZe Yong who has the good height , nice style and smooth footwork but lack muscle power and experience.

Nur and Goh has one more year to improve to reach top 10 otherwise they wont make it. Lee J Z needs more development to challenge the top 5. I believe LZJ needs to consistently beat Ginting Jonathan CTC to challeng VA and KM. As with Aaron -Soh need more consistency.

Can anybody tell why didn't Hong Kong participate? They have a decent team.

Not exactly sure but some of the players had to go to mainland China to play in the All China Games. When getting to China, they had to do a couple of weeks of quarantine. Coming back to Hong Kong, they had to quarantine again. In the end, a lot of training time has been lost. Even the coach had to quarantine and therefore away from the players who were left in Hong Kong.

This is one country two system and HK players got the short end of the stick.
    HK players must be unhappy.
But were they qualified to participate?

Probably but I didn’t check. Even the original lists didn’t have HK down as participating. Post Olympics there is some reorganisation in the HK coaches so I guess there’s too much going at the moment.

Of course, it goes without saying, HKSAR is qualified to play the China National Games - One country first, then two systems, that is, HKSAR is part of one country, China, just like any other cities, municipalities or provinces in Mainland China.

As to why you seemed to think HKSAR players got the short end of the stick because of the 21-day quarantine, it has to do with HK having its own CDC with its Covid-19 prevention and control policies, safety measures, the rate of vaccination and the types of vaccines used, which differs from the Chinese CDC.

The 21-day quarantine requirement also applies to any Mainland Chinese returning from overseas, such as all the Olympians returning home from the Tokyo Olympics. Remember, I posted about Chen Yufei's weibo (microblog) where she talked about how she passed the 21-day quarantine period c/w photos in the Chinese Badminton thread relating to the China National Games. Only Mainlanders who have not been overseas and traveling within China from city to city or province to province are subject to shorter quarantine (I can't remember 7 or 14 days).

In short, there's no discrimination against the HKSAR players, only different CDC Covid-19 policies and measures in place for travelers, local and foreign, into Mainland China.
