    VICTOR Denmark Open 2021

Kento is absolutely killing it! His defense looks to be holding well against Viktor's smashes. Even if Kento doesn't win this match, I'm really impressed. Congrats Kento, if you win or lose, either way. You played well.

Kento is getting too feisty. He should just continue playing like in game one.

I don't understand how Kento is able to defend against Viktor's smashes so easily, but struggles against Heo's smashes...

Kento is looking really tired in the the third set... Trailing 5 pts at the interval :(

eMo should have changed careers after his humiliation at the Olympics. The only person his wet-noodle-attack-and-defence-grind play style may have been effective on was VA, and he couldn’t even keep his head on straight to play long rallies long enough to win the match in G2 (not even going to start on his appalling line judgement).

An utter choke…not even worth watching anymore.

Very good game, much better than I expected. As I wrote when he was 17-14 up in the second game, he got way too cocky and wanted to show VA up with lots of smashes and fast-paced rallies, and his attack isn't still there, yet. This a) helped Viktor get back in the match and b) took the energy out of himself.
Good game for everybody. Good for the spectators, the commentators are super happy, Viktor does not get his entire season invalidated in front of his home crowd and Momota knows he'll be back to his old form if he keeps it up.

Well, Kento lost 22-20, 18-21, 21-12 :( But he should be really happy with his performance. His defense held up very well. He defended against the most lethal smasher in badminton like it was nothing.

I feel like Kento lost because of stamina. No more gas left in the tank in the third game. Viktor's stamina was hurting in the second, but got better in the third.

In this Denmark Open, for Momota, this has been the best he has played internationally since his car accident. So that's good new for him. If Momota can continue to play like this in the next several tournaments, I don't think he is really suffering any major long term issues from the car accident or from catching covid.

To post this, of course. He's probably been writing this since the draw of the Denmark Open. Can you imagine the poor fellow had Momota actually won? :D

Was that passive aggression from him?. Might be a great fan of Momota and he completely lost it when Momota got defeated.

    Cos I live in a free country…LOL?

Given their h2h record I was curious if VA’s Olympic win might have been a fluke because eMo got knocked out. But no…eMo really can’t execute on strategy when he’s poised to win, and has lost his good judgement. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory…a total choke.

Therapy is for fan boys who can’t accept that the ship has sailed and have to contort their brains to concoct elaborate excuses for why eMo is just one more game away from a comeback.

    Keep that flame alive, boys!

Rest assured, knowing the principles of probability, I would never dream of throwing my hard earned money away betting on a paper tiger like that.

Not a fluke because Momota at the Olympics were not as good as now.
