I got the feeling we may see this combination sooner than later. Even G. Clark was excited with their prospect, though I still hope Carnando / Marthin can continue their partnership and not split up
Maybe we can see them in the Indonesian leg of tournaments Not sure if they have been registered or if it is still possible to register them
i'm just gonna keep saying it, i want to see gideon playing with fajar fajar is the best front court player at the moment so let's see what happen when 2 steady player are playing together
Me too.. Just seeing Kevin yesterday and today, i can only shake my head Still during their off form, they still won ThomasCup title being influential in QF and SF, and FO Silver.
As much as I want to see Kevin & Gideon to be paired with other players, I don't think the coaches are brave enough to split Fajar/Rian. They are the most stable pair INA has for now.
Gideon used to play front court before pairing with kevin I think he should be back playing front again due to his age and should pair with a young strong back player
Anyone watched their match against JPN today? Kevin was indecisive on many occasions, like he isn't confidence enough with his front court skills
gIdeon/daniel maybe ? but idk, I still want to see gideon playing with fajar, I just feel like this partnership could be successful.
Yes, it could. Maybe because there are long times without tournaments and some injuries. Afterall, now is like the 5th week of tournaments since SudirmanCup. Not to say they played it all but SC they played (2x?), ThomasCup (3x?) which is a highly emotional and draining tournaments. And there wont be much rest until after WorldChamp so lets see how it goes. Just hope they stay injury free meanwhile.
I wonder what herry ip think about kevin antics against kusuma/rambitan, it's one thing to do it against the opponent from other country (although personally I don't like it either) but to do it against your compatriot ? it made me cringe watching that match, even kusuma had to protest to the empire because of that
And here I was convinced that Kevin has grown in maturity. I was dead wrong. Sent from my SM-N9208 using Tapatalk
He's 26 years old and still acting like this, I'm convinced all these young players don't respect him at all. hendra is still the ultimate role model for all these youngsters.
Create another clown award for Kevin. If someone creates a video named clown of badminton. Am sure he will stop it.
I don't think creating video will stop Kevin. I see that it is a bit of spontaneous reaction. Everytime he felt any opponent trying to do something that "trigger" him, he will immediately to the "childish" mode of showing what he felt. After any match that he showed that behaviour, we never see him carrying that emotion post match. To some spectators maybe it is annoying to watch. Usually I often encounter some social player doing that to me when playing, while annoying but I never bother. So again depending on who the opponents are, some may get annoyed and the match becomes more "heated" But for purely entertainment view, 'heated" matches usually is more interesting. Sportspeople who display their emotions are usuually more "remembered", like John Mc Enroe(despite not that spectacular achievement) And Kevin at least never did anything physical to harm others and probably never even said anything to provoke just doing his own action
Intense matches are interesting. But it looked more like bullying the juniors. No physical harm but emotionally affected, I think.
Before Kevin started doing his thing around mid 2nd game, the other pair has done things including: excessive celebration warned by umpire, (accidentally) threw racket to the other end of the court, diving onto the court after the point was won. In all, there were plenty of provocation from the other side. Not saying Kevin was right doing his things, but the other pair seems to want to “bring the war” (which they lost).
I think Minions are the only pair that has won SS in 6 consecutive years ( they won IM last year) so that is a nice record in itself. Anyone thinks Boe/Mo or others had longer record?
