GG, both players played really well this match, third set LKY had the advantage but LZJ somehow kept the score fairly level despite being injured early on in the set. Probably wanted to see off the match but he could barely even stand upright in the end. No shame in losing because of injury, hopefully he'll recover for next week. LKY can go very far if he continues on like this.

Lee zee jia uses brute force which definitely can't win him tournaments .
He need to change his style otherwise, he will get injured often.

Logical move, looking forward to Bali rather than further injury and risk missing Bali. He made too many mistakes I could count those near misses going out ... more than a handful.

Congratulations Loh Kean Yew! What a come-back after losing the first set 19-21!
It was pity that Lee Zii Jia had to retire because of his back injury, trailing 12-17. A huge pay-check (US$24k) for Kean Yew and well deserved indeed, I am really happy for him.

His training stint in Dubai with the Olympic champion has definitely paid off, with his first World Tour Super 500 title to add to the Thailand Masters (Super 300) title won (by beating Lin Dan) in January 2019.

The European tour has concluded for him, reaping fruitful rewards:
    Yonex Dutch Open 2021 WINNER
Viktor Denmark Open 2021 R32 - losing to none other than Viktor Axelsen (WR2)
Yonex French Open 2021 R16 - beating Lee Zii Jia (WR8) and losing to Lakshya Sen (WR21)
Hylo Open 2021 WINNER - beating players who are all higher-ranked than him - Chou Tien-Chen (WR4), Toma Junior Popov (WR35) Rasmus Gemke (WR13) Lakshya Sen (WR21), and Lee Zii Jia (WR8).

And an overall record of 11-2 over 4 tourneys!

Do you think Viktor will invite him back for another few weeks? :)

His defence and body smash was awesome against a taller player. Congrats to lky.

Now Malaysia coach hendrawan needs a new game plan for lky. Else mental block whenever they meet.

Other players have now discovered his weakness. Doubt he can make it in Bali. Need more time to rest for wc. ;)

I believe you need to pay to join Viktor's training camp no?

He seems to commercialize it and I suspect it's his side income while in Dubai. ;)

Looks like his injury is the same as Momota's.
We should do a lot of stretching before our games.

    Anybody noticed in these journeys?.
Those who were called for a training stint with Victor few weeks ago, definitely got their game improved, starting from their attack to defense as well as their mental strength.
    Loh, Sen, Brian etc.

A perfect ending for the unseeded Loh KY reach career high to win maiden S500 title, his well improvement of intensive training has contributed the victory here to capitalise the situation when most top players aren't in good shape due to non-stop 5-week tournament in Europe. Loh beat tournament favourites Chou Tien Chen in first round and Lee Zii Jia at last round who suffers back injury and can't complete the match, perhaps the elite players will learn more details about this Singaporean player at next tournaments. He looks like off the radar so far, losing frequently in early rounds since created sensational breakthrough in THA Masters (January 2019), his WR will jump into #31 tomorrow.

    upload_2021-11-8_12-12-26.png

Meanwhile an anticlimax fashion occured in WS final contest, Busanan is too strong for SGP young lady Yeo JM, the third-ranked THA player implementing right formula to play faster and aggressive to pressure and frustrate her opponent. Jordan/Oktavianti once again swallow the defeat despite put very good fight throughout opening game but succumbed at critical points. Finally the Minions end title drought since to subdue Carnando/Marthin, the world number one pair have more various strokes, better defense and certainly the experience. Hoshi/Matsuda out as champion in same narrative of both games when they trailed behind but turned the tables at the end against Iwanaga/Nakanishi.

We'll wait their consistency, the toughest part to do especially in top tier tournaments.
