Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin continue to struggle against MAS opponents as they lost the first set 15-21. Are they going to be a 4-tourneys wonder pair? After an excellent 8 mths of the year, they have yet to reproduce the form that won them the Olympic Gold Medal.
It's just mainly Lee Yang. He's going through a meltdown for some reason. His defense is so bad and he's so slow.
Lee ji jia - 39620 Viktor - playing Kidambi - playing Toma popov - 33750 Lakshya sen - 32 860 Kunlavut - 32550 Momota - playing Rasmus Gemke - playing CTC - 30670 Antonsen - playing Yeah, CTC is out . Still 5 players are racing for that position. I hope Sen would qualify. Sorry guys. Calculated and typed it from mobile. At work now. Sorry for any mistakes
What happened to LeeYang. always looks so despondent like he didnt get much money from winning OG. Probably the weakest Olymp Champ is between LeeWang and GreysAp.
Lee Yang challenged the last shot....and the call was right, it was out. The MAS pair Goh Tze Fei/Nur Izzudin beat the TPE pair in straight-sets 21-15, 23-21. Goh/Izzudin saved 3 set-pts at 20-22 and 20-21; before taking the second-set. So, if the Minions can beat Ong/Teo again, no chance of meeting Lee/Wang in the SF.
Again Lee/Wang lost to MAS pair, the setback continues after last week quarterfinal outing but they still qualify for World Tour Finals as the reigning Olympic Champion, poor defense and lack of creativity plus slower than usual quick shots.
When Gill and Frost talk about aura of the Champ, i'm sure they dont mean that pairs keep winning or unbeatable. My thinking is they reckon this TPE pair should at least get to SF. Otherwise, if they keep losing early, the aura will eventually be gone. We can see how Hendra always have this aura until 35 yo, before Covid strikes.
Even at Olympics, they lost to Rankireddy/shetty but have you seen the same pattern, these two pairs keep losing to Malaysian pairs for the past 2 tournaments. So, malaysian pair must be working something with Flandy
Not to discredit their achievements but as mentioned many times before, the Olympics don't have the strongest competition compared to the regular Super 1000 series.
How is it that i am seeing the same pairs playing again and again for the past 3 tournaments. BWF fixtures need a revamp. Second time Kevin is playing Choi/Kim So is it with Hoki Kobayashi
After Olympics ended I thought Lee/Wang and Rankireddy/Shetty will dominate MD but they seem to be struggling now. Not sure if it's temporary or long-term. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
