What the hell?. Group A Men's Doubles is exactly same as the group in Olympics. Satwik Sairaj/CHirag defeated Kim Astrup combo and Lee Yang combo and lost to Marcus/Gideon but could not qualify to knockout round but Lee Yang qualified and won the olympics . Exact same draw. How do draws are done? So many repetitions in recent times.

Groups: 1. Top seed -> Group A, 2nd seed -> Group B 2. The two 3/4 seeds -> One in each group at random. 3. Groups filled up with remaining players at random. Matches: 1. In each group: Everyone plays everyone exactly once. 2. Who plays first? The two seeded players in a group usually play each other last. The order of the remaining matches could be random, but my guess is they have a template. It could be, for example, that the highest seeded player in the group plays the 4th rank, 3rd rank and then 2nd rank in the group in that order. Edit: Ok now I just saw that VA plays Gemke in the first round. I.e. the two seeded players meet in first round. This combined with my next post below... I am seriously confused. There is so much that does not make sense.

Here is one thing that puzzles me.. Does anyone know the reasoning or logic behind basing the seeds on the WTF rankings? Referring to it as a "ranking" is stupid in my opinion. It is a "race to" or a "qualifier race". By basing the seeds on the WTF rankings rather than the world rankings BWF deliberately allow the 3 best players/pairs to be put in the same group. And they almost had to seed Toma Popov! When they put together a system where rank 1 and 2 (VA and KM) can meet in the first round, why even have seeds? Just make a random draw without seeds. The result is the same.
