That was not possible though. Both finished runner up in the respective groups

No. Just runner ups will be randomly selected to play agains the winners of the group. I’m short, winners of the groups will not be up against each other in the knock out stage

It would be weirder if it was actually all random

The 2012 Olympics fiasco with the WD players intentionally losing their group games made these changes necessary so that it would never happen again. That was a totally expected messy outcome.

MS last round scenario likely will contend Viktor Axelsen who grabs 2020/2021 BWF Male of The Year Award and reigning All England Champion unless one of those up-and-coming future stars Kunlavut Vitidsarn or Lakshya Sen could produce huge upset, perhaps the resilient Thai wonder kid has chance to stun MAS ace.

Another Yamaguchi-An final showdown? Four players have equal chance as all of them more familiar each other because had met regularly in recent times, the main factor to overcome is the tiredness.

King of Superseries/World Tour event, Gideon/Sukamuljo look back to their nature and closer to capture lucrative prize money here, intriguing battle to face title holders Lee Y/Wang CL and probably Hoki/Kobayashi in last round.

Once again Tokyo OG XD semifinal replay, the dynamic Japanese duo Watanabe/Higashino are more favoured to eliminate Tang/Tse while defending champions Thai pair should prevail despite have negative H-2-H stats against MAS veterans Chan/Goh.

Rested LeeWang at 2.90 vs tired Minions. Great value $100 for me.

I also think Sindhu will beat Yamaguchi or at least cover

This competition is, frankly, starting to bore me. I'm only going to watch the MD and selective XD matches now.

Chiharu is playing scared a bit - maybe due to fatigue as well catching up to them. Nami's smashes do not seem hard enough today.

Shida Shida... Matsuyama looks fierce with steady eyes.

But its better than Polii and Rahayu who just kept smiling, i just wanna smack her face. I dont think they were smiling this much during Olympic (Final). I remembered there were tension on the last points to the title. It should be that way.Aihz.

She smiled too much and make 2 silly errors in the end, Apriani that is. who tf keep smiling when they were in situation to lose 30,000. Mother.

If Sindhu win this match, I hope this is 2-0 and a "fast match". Yamaguchi need time to rest

Way too close for comfort against Tang/Tse. The HK pair might soon be able to beat Watagashi pair consistently. They need to cut down their mistakes against the Thais tomorrow.
