It's too early to say that for HokiKoba. They haven't even met the two new Korean pairs I think. One of them dragged the Minions to a rubber set and they just paired up. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
so you want marcus to say to the umpire: the cock touch my leg? hahahaha. does it change the umpire's decision? good if marcus does that
So, Viktor just need to beat Lakshya Sen and Kunlavut to win WTF this year ??? An easier win than winning a super tour 500
Finally, have some time to watch, but not all the matches. Rest well, Akane. Both her and Sindhu looked tired (more so for Akane) and Akane, just like Intanon days ago, managed to caught up but alas, the game wasn’t theirs. Sindhu always does better in bigger tournaments. GreyAp still couldn’t win against MatsuShida since the IO. Greysia looked so disappointed in the end. Understandable, since it would be her last WTF, possibly her last tournament even, in INA. Very close G3 score as well. Possibly another title for MatsuShida in Bali but Kim/Kong just received a resting day. Both sides fell hard during the Yuta/Arisa vs Tang/Tse match. Good match, reminiscent of the INA Masters. Almost a rubber for Chan/Goh but they’re obviously not in a good condition. Dechapol/Sapsiree are unstoppable this far. If they win the final, I heard that they would be WR1, so they will be on fire for the next match. People dubbed them inhuman especially Sapsiree, for those numerous matches in a very short time, double duties and wins. WR1 is very well deserved if they win. Yet to see the match but I thought that LZJ would be a finalist. Congrats Kun, BWF’s the Most Promising Player, but Axelsen seems to be in the terminator mode this whole year. I think VA’ll win this WTF. Now, my most anticipated match. Lee/Wang in this WTF is the most fired up Lee/Wang after quite some time. Still error heavy, and not their ‘OG form’ but with this kind of performance, I think they wouldn’t lose in those last several matches before this WTF. Lee Yang seemed off in the last several matches but now it’s Wang Chi-lin’s turn. I saw a comment that said ‘Wang Chi-lin with a hint of Praveen Jordan’ which is funny but unfortunately quite fitting. I read an excerpt of their interview, they said that people are putting too much expectation for them. I think this is one of the reason of their sudden decline. Up until the Olympics, they played without burden and was an underdog. No big pressures, no high expectations. But now, they have that Gold OG Medalist title and there are pressures, people look up to them, many players want to beat them so they can achieve that ‘I beat the Olympic champion’ milestone. I saw a Twitter thread of Chi-lin’s mostly deleted IG stories posted just few hours ago, somehow in Catalan language instead of Chinese, about him being so exhausted, his body is hurting, want to go home but unable to rest and must go to Europe. Poor guy. GreyAp who also are underdog OG champions seem to be at peace with their position, level of ability and not burdened that much, so I hope Lee/Wang could get to that point soon. Great and a very tight match with The Minions. I think the shuttle touched Marcus’ leg. I just search their interviews after this match and okay, Marcus in an interview, quoted by a journalist, said that the shuttle indeed touched him and he admitted it but still got the point from the umpire. I remember that this happened once before (the shuttle touched Marcus but still get a point) with Kamura/Sonoda and Marcus at that time also said that he told the umpire of it but the umpire didn’t change his mind. In both matches, Marcus seemingly apologized and Kamura/Lee Yang walked together with him after the match, talking and smiling to my relief. People were saying that they didn’t defend/challenge the next point possibly as a trade and I think I can see that. I know that many would prefer Axelsen’s way but I’ll take it. I don’t like the way this limited spectators booed players (like what they have done to Lee/Wang, they didn’t deserve any of that BS) and screaming ‘habisin’ (‘finish it’) whenever INA players have a match point. It breaks concentration, made them nervous, very rude to the opponents, absolutely annoying and unpleasant to be heard. INA spectators, especially at the Istora can make the players feel like celebrities, fun and great if they are on your side, but so far IMO the French Open spectators are better. Ong/Teo gave a good fight until Teo’s back/waist pain seriously bothered him. I was rooting for them, I think they have it in them for a revenge but maybe next time. Hoki/Kobayashi are truly worthy of being Japan’s MD1 and currently on fire, the final will be very interesting. The Minions are getting more and more tired and Hoki/Kobayashi arguably got less rockier road. Hope everyone who was injured/retired/fatigued are okay, ready and will be fine enough since BWC is just around the corner with Chinese players in full power despite the long quarantine period.
The spectators are mostly organizers. Very unprofessional of them to be loud and obnoxious like that.
Yes, a bit unfair since crowds aren't allowed and the home players have support. They can watch but keep silent.
60,000 120,000 the Prize Money has come long way since SS started in 2007. the first 5-6 years of that is barely showing. No wonder someone like Hendra still continue playing till these days. He is the oldest badminton player right now. If LCW can, i'm sure he wouldnt have stopped.
A little bit of luck involved in WD semifinal match when the two fatal mistakes has denied the Olympic Champions Polii/Rahayu from grand final in very close contest. Third consecutive final in a row for the rapid rise Matsuyama/Shida and will take on Koreans stumbling blocks Kim SY/Kong HY who earn free final ticket as Stoeva sisters concede walkover citing Gabriela Stoeva back injury, underscoring how many retirements happen in the top flight event which supposed to present high appealing competition. Winning streak continues in Bali for Thai world’s number two pair after they beat Chan/Goh, the level of play between these two pairs has quite different and too predictable who will seal this tie despite the Malaysians put better resistance in second game but it’s not enough to unravel their world class rivals quality. Earlier on the court, Watanabe/Higashino edge past Tang/Tse in more interesting atmosphere, significantly in third game, seemed HKG pair didn’t want to lift up the shuttlecock frequently as their defense aren’t quite solid for Watanabe lethal smash, they more prefer to play fast flat drive to score point. It’s very fruitful months for Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai and the Japanese as well post Tokyo Olympic Games to scoop many ranking points, thanks to their fantastic jobs and the absence of mighty Chinese. The World Champion denies Yamaguchi-An regular duel, credit to the Japanese strong fighting spirit to equalize the scoreline from down 5-12, luckily Sindhu stays composed in critical points to hold nerves well, her sharp smashes playing vital role to break Yamaguchi first class defense and win this match. The Indians looks more determined during this event than previous tournaments that she had participated since last October. Third consecutive final for the Korean shining star who vanquished once again Pornpawee Chochuwong that troubled An but too bad she didn't execute well in late stage of both games. Intriguing clash to watch whether An will create hat-trick or Sindhu reclaims 2018 title that she won in Guangzhou. Another disappointment for the Olympic Champions to swallow narrow defeat, lost to arch rivals Gideon/Sukamuljo again. Both pairs have really equal strength in terms of technical skill but the world number one combination is better in defense aspect and less error this time. The Minions will meet regular foes, the Japanese Hoki/Kobayashi who showing a tremendous feat since last October. The Japanese eliminate Ong YS/Teo EY straight forward and without much trouble. A giant leap for Thai rising star in his tender age to reach maiden final in top tier tour, thanks to his great defense and steady play to eliminate the below par All England champion Lee Zii Jia who produced numerous unnecessary elementary mistakes. Vitidsarn has mammoth task to face the Olympic Champ Axelsen who outplayed Lakshya Sen in two quick games, the young Indian unabled to stem his opponent powerful attacking shots and tactical play, needs to improve defense element and enrich various strokes to develop further. The tall Dane who has dethroned Kento Momota as World number one player status is the overwhelming favourite to recapture third World Tour Finals MS crown after 2016 & 2017 (previously Superseries Final), the easiest way to top podium, only facing two new kids on the block, what a bizarre tournament.
Say what you want about kevin but marcus is a warrior, you just salty lee wang lost, 2 losses in 1 week is not robbed lol
In Bali, Thai's pair is the best, but in another stadium, when the shuttle faster, Japan's pair will win. Wata-Higa even cannot win Hong Kong's pair easily.
