No need to be bitter & blame Lady Luck for the predicament faced by your favourite player, though.

Well, oh well, if Kevin Cordon reproduces the form he had at the Tokyo Olympics, it's not far-fetched to imagine him in the final here - and should he confound us and wear the crown come Sunday, I'd be grinning from ear to ear with my eyes popping out in disbelief. It'll be the greatest upset in badminton history, unequivocally.

Yeah, why not ? He's not considered a dark horse in most cases but certainly an underdog through and through. And I'd love to see that happened, a historic, unprecedented feat, a fairy tale comes true beyond our wildest imagination. Go, Kevin go, go ,go!

In this abnormal pandemic world championships, let's hope for an equally anomalous outcome to remember it by for years, perhaps decades, to come.

I wonder if after the high of beating Viktor, if Loh Kean Yew can sustain his performance through the next few rounds.

Same went for Heo Kwang Hee when he beat Momota at the Olympics - from a high, he then crumbled to Cordon of all players.

That happens. Low ranked players when they play top ranked players, they will try to give 200% to match the opponents and it's that top opponent feel all the pressure. But when these low ranked players meet another player of his level or less in the next round, they never give that much output. Whereas that opponent feel lucky to meet this guy instead of top ranked player , so he will be thankful to him as it is the biggest opportunity for him as well to win a medal. So, bottom half players everybody will be ready to meet anybody else as Viktor is lost already.

True. And honestly, it is not just MS. MD and WD are hit hard as well. WS is also hit very hard, but the amount of top tier players kinda makes up for it.

Let us hope it will be better in 2022. This year is a bit of "perfect storm" with Covid problems multiplied by post-Olympic retirements and reshuffle.

Chou Tien Chen is playing like his booked session is over and he fears that court uncle would come anytime to charge extra dollars.

Somewhat unexpected, esp after Lu Guangzu lost G1, I thought he's finished.

Bitter and Blame ??? ^-^ Funny, I think you still hate me because I don't like Lee Zii Jia and say something about him and you just wait a chance to "fight back".

You know I just wish Nishimoto win a super tour 300 and hope he can go to the semi final this time. And you think Nishimoto's loss will make me feel bitter.

If I feel bitter everytime Nishimoto lost, I world have been chosen Viktor or Chen Long or Momota to love to make me happy the whole year.

I used to said I will stop the hate (to Lee Zii Jia), but I will give you "hahaha" if he cannot win gold medal this time. I will wait.

Then why bother complaining about luck regarding the outcome of the match?

I suppose you are bitter towards LZJ after all. But never mind, laughing at someone's shortcomings seems okay in your book, pretty much tells of something.

Heck I didn't even mention about LZJ's chance of winning the whole thing in this thread.
    Relax, yes?
