Oh I missed Chia/Soh's match yesterday. Good job of them defeating a boogie Chinese pair, Ou/ZN. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
The more intense competition is expected to start from last sixteen round... There're some engaging MS matches should be followed, man of spotlight in Tokyo OG Guatemalan Kevin Cordon takes on Indian next generation star Lakshya Sen, there's big gap in terms of their experience between these two players. Sen consumed 92 minutes to quell Kenta Nishimoto stiff resistance previously while Cordon will seek sensational performance here, no impossible for him to earn medal as the contest is pretty equal as none favorite to be the frontrunner. Resurgent former world number one Srikanth Kidambi will find another Chinese hurdle to book last eight spot, the agile Lu Guangzu who carry out heavy burden to keep CHN chance alive in this category. Highest seeded player left, 2019 World Championships silver medalists Anders Antonsen has complicated opponent to tackle, Lee Chwuk Yiu who beat him last October in Paris. Sindhu-Chochuwong tie offers most intriguing WS clash at this stage which contains unpredictable ending who will nail victory and set up a meeting with highly likely top contender Tai Tzu Ying tomorrow. China lefthander He Bingjiao looked little bit rusty when she eliminated French player Marie Batomene, as usual the Chinese can't control consistency and too easy to contribute cheap point for her opponent. If He performance stayed the same, most likely she will face big trouble to confront Blichfeldt. The Olympic Champions Lee/Yang have prospect to avenge their INA Open defeat to MAS #4 pair Goh SF/Izzuddin also one more interesting encounter to watch, the projected close battle between Ong YS/Teo EY against Rankireddy/Shetty. Women's doubles most awaited quarters will wait top-seed Chen/Jia meet the well-improved Japanese Matsuyama/Shida, 2017 World Champions are predicted to be China best hope to grab gold medal in Huelva after the shocking exit of always dependable two-time reigning World Champion Zheng SW/Huang YQ. Mixed doubles strong favorites stay on course, Thai duo, WataHiga and Tang/Tse whilst China interest found finish line yesterday following the back up pairs Guo XW/Zhang SX subdued by Danish combination Christiansen/Boje. LKY has proven himself as a capable contender when he has beaten players ranked higher than himself, including Lin Dan, Momota and Axelsen.
Born in Malay, but grow up by Singapore, and of course, graduated by Singaporean I like Loh Kean Yew because he show his humble attitude on court. I just want to tell that both was "Malaysian" but why I like Loh but not Lee. Just compare both of them.
As regards Loh Kean Yew's nationality, I hope Malaysians please stop claiming as Loh as Malaysian. His parents and Loh have decided to take up Sgpore offer of scholarship and citizenship to play for Singapore. They made that decision when he was 13 and he is a product of Singapore and Singapore's effort to turn him into a world beater. Singapore BA has not have a world class locally produced player since Wong Peng Soon and kudos to the to find one in LKY. And Malaysians please stop this chatter about lost opportunity or talent drain to Sgpore. Loh made his choice very early in life and he was not rejected by BAM. There was no guarantee he would have made it with BAM given the tough competition posed by his comtemporaries which include two olympic bronze medalist.
I just realised that some Indonesian were still playing this tournament, do you know the reason they can play without PBSI's permit
Sure, he has potential. But let's not forget that Momota wasn't able to smash due to his back injury, and that, in 2019, Lin Dan was well past his prime.
Still waiting for a good match, irs beginning to feel like without momota and the indonesians, there are no longer any true favorites..
Lol... I don't think he considered himself as Malaysian. He showing and pointing to his Singapore flag on his chest and even kiss it to show the camera whenever he wins against a high ranking players. Plus he serve the 2 years Military National Service in Singapore.
Pointing and kissing the flag on jersey, to show they represent their countries. Every player does that, probably the cameraman asked them to do it. He is Singaporean and we should move on with our badminton. Ignore the uninformed.
Please let me know if you get an answer. I would like to watch court 3 today. However, I think that they dont have a camera at court 3
