To be fair my source is this community. Various posts within badminton central talked about it when li retired from international badminton
I can’t find anything from BWF channel on YouTube. Anyone has livestream for Nhat Nguyen vs Zhao Jun Peng, please post it here. Thanks!
LKY has been winning all his games with his opponents getting single digit. Will it be the same with Prannoy?
Apart from Viktor in the first round - yep. Seems like he's found his stride in the past few matches, pretty much dominating them. He'll probably go up against Antonsen in the next round - Lee Zii Jia has had three 3 set matches and he's gotta have some form of fatigue kicking in now.
QUARTERFINALS (10.00am) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...es?id=179F47D7-AA9A-4B74-A4DC-6ABC31390757&d= Some underdogs steal the limelight, significant improvement or having very lucky draw in this anomalous World Championships... MS strongest favourite based on seeding position, Anders Antonsen showed dominant performance to tame the explosive Lee Cheuk Yiu meanwhile the All England Champion Lee ZJ once again underwent another three games match that indicating the Malaysian hotshot has struggling form and doubtful that he could pass 2019 World Championships runner-up in quarters. Man in spotlight Loh Kean Yew performs more and more convincing how he clears obstacle since stunned the Olympic Champion in first round. Indian players have promising prospect so far with three representatives in last eight. Prannoy outlasts world #10 Rasmus Gemke in very tight contest, Srikanth Kidambi neutralizes CHN third-ranked player Lu Guangzu who resembles similar offensive style with former world #1 but Srikanth has better various strokes, excellent netplay, accurate angles of deadly smashes that causing Lu ran out of idea to balance his more experienced rival. Last man standing for CHN in this category Zhao JP perhaps has reasonable chance to pocket medal here. The most eagerly awaited WS quarterfinal duel, replay of Tokyo OG semifinal and 2019 Basel World Championships last eight between two high reputable players. Exciting to wait whether Tai Tzu Ying will break her jinx to progress into final four for the first time after series of failures in many previous editions. Indian mega star Sindhu, specialist of major event shows her true color to vanquish the rapid rise Chochuwong in two straight games whilst the Taiwanese ace dropped second game, no thanks for her usual elementary errors plus good tactic by Gilmour. China has secured bronze medal at least, He Bingjiao is favoured to beat younger teammate Han Yue today. Han came from behind to win over Canadian top player Michelle Li who unabled to maintain her healthy lead in both games, what a waste. An SY-Yamaguchi familiar showdown happens frequently in last three months, the Korean prodigy experienced tough times to conquer the up-and-coming talent Wang ZY. The Olympic Champions Lee/Wang displaying a dip of form since captured prestigious gold medal in Tokyo, big question whether they could complete another noteworthy result here to epitomize grand scale achievement as badminton players. Big upset emerged in last sixteen, 4th seed Aaron Chia/Soh WY journey halted by off-the radar CHN number one combination He JT/Tan Q in three games, no impossible for them to snatch final berth to capitalise the absence of nemesis Indonesian rivals. Arduous test awaits Chen QC/Jia YF to face the on-fire Matsuyama/Shida, if the top-seed lost today, perhaps China chance to nail title in Huelva practically gone case and it'll be disastrous nightmare in their World Championships participation long history. With the lefthander Jia Yi Fan heavily strapped in her right knee, the Chinese seems not in good shape. Japan produces many layers in WD category who has similar quality of technical skill while China once very powerful and dominant force in past era has complicacy to create several world beaters outside their number one pair. The front runners simply unstoppable, Japanese pair rule last eight upper half draw with Watanabe/Higashino are the heavy favorite to go further into finale and upgrade their color of medal. Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai getting better and better and reach high level that never seen before, on paper script they will meet regular foe Tang/Tse for a place in last round.
LKY is on beast mode and Srikanth could possibly get a medal. I wished Cordon would get a medal but Lakshya Sen played really well. Malaysian independent MDs are still on the run. Hopefully Goh/Tan will get any medal to sweetly close their partnership although He/Tan have a chance. Wish for the best for whoever emerge from Ong/Teo and Lee/Wang. TTY/PVS, ASY/AY, LZJ/AA and others. Firework lineup today.
I checked their H2H record and LKY has yet to beat Prannoy before in their last two encounters. But obviously they played each other a while ago and LKY is a much improved player now. So I think LKY is the favourite to win. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
Prannoy is a good player and no push-over. I hope LKY remains focused in his goal and plays to his best ability.
I will say the same for KS as well, never in my mind I imagined KS can beat Li Shi Feng and then Lu Guang, quite an achievement already LKY's pace can rattle HSP quickly.
Yes, I suspect HSP is very much a stroke player and loves time and space to play his game. So LKY must not allow him that luxury.
That's a wise decision of LKY's parents. LKY wouldn't have the opportunities he has in Singapore if he had remained in Malaysia. And it's not just the right combination of coach and player. I may be wrong but I read once that they are also well backed up by a sports science team here that analyses opponent play. I have only watched LKY vs VA YouTube match highlights. LKY's speed edge comes from game reading ( preparation courtesy of sports science) LKY's natural speed looks slower than LCW. However LKY plays like a sniper hunting for his moving target. If he misses the first next move, the second..he nails the third one.
Hmm Indian MS coach stays at home and you guys have 3 players in quarterfinals. Maybe that's the way?
