AA playing angles half smashes already, HSP didn't play even one.

 

AA is too passive with too many lifts and a few half smashes.

 

Antonsen playing so defensive in the 1st set, rarely using his power smash in the 1st set.

 

Finally a power smash from Antonsen at 18-20 down

 

Ok, AA is deliberately playing a defensive game, trying to tire LKY out.

Imagine AA+Kenneth two of the smartest brains, tough to beat them.

So glad LKY managed to win G1

 

Thats probably the WC for KS, I don't think he can follow LKY in pace.

 

I don’t know if this is the right game plan. LKY is too fast, explosive, and energetic at the moment.

 

So AA will have to pull out his power smashes in the 2nd set or he will be eliminated. It was obvious that AA was trying to steal the first set by using as little energy/stamina as possible. But it didn't work out.

Now let's see how AA plays in the 2nd set. I suspect LKY will keep up his offensive smashing game, as that is what he does best.

 

It's what AA does though, because I think he has poor stamina. In the Thomas Cup against Ginting or Christie (I can't remember which Indonesian player), AA was gassed in the 3rd set and lost because of fitness.

Did Antonsen ever win a match after losing G1?

 

Yeah. Had AA won the first set, AA has a higher chance of winning with this strategy.

Now with 1 game down, it’s tough to win.

Why is AA smashes so weak now? My GF's smashes are a lot harder

 

LKY is extremely fast and explosive and his defense is amazing as well.
