antonsen: i don't think he's 100% healthy. he pulled out of last tournament w/ issues in his rib(?) area.

yamaguchi: she gets well deserved credit for being a retriever and not enough credit for being a smart player.

hoki/kobayashi: hoki on fire now. much improved since beginning of the 3 bali tournaments. kobayashi is the setiawan of serving, ha ha.

    finals:
    ms: lky in 2 games
    ws: tty in 2 games
    md: hoki/kobayashi in 2 games
xd: very close 3 game match with watanabe/higashino winning.
wd: not watching, but rooting for korea.

    fair point
But I still think pre-13 practice will not be the most determining factor in forging someone's playing style
This is an discussable statement of course haha

I agreed after witnessing his WC 1st round outing against VA.
He'd return everything & would punish loose shots made by his opponents.
His pace is blazingly fast, for a 24-year-old.

I think he most probably idolise LCW and pick up his style watching him. Plus, the foundations and techniques kept evolving in badminton. The foundations during your jr day is just a basic.

I read Mulyo going back to coach in India soon. Has it been finalised?

Will Axelsen ever invite players to train with him in Dubai again?

Nah, it's pretty obvious that the man he's looking up to is Ronny Susilo.

Hope no. SG badminton has improved lately, and though we don't see him beside Loh and Yeo (right?) on the court, he certainly play a part.

He can always invite Toby Penty again. With Brian Yang I would be careful.
Just watched the MS SF matches. Had to change YouTube speed settings to 1.25 in the first one to match LKY tempo.
Fingers crossed for KS but it may as well be the shortest final in history.

So I’m pretty new to following badminton and all but why do u guys think LKY is the fav? I know he’s playing really well etc but isn’t KS former world #1? I recall the commentators talking about that.

They're probably basing their opinions on both of their current performances, reputation not withstanding.
But it's okay if some people would want to root for Kidambi to win the WC. It's still a possibility, nonetheless.

Seeing how spent SK was at the end of the match today, I firmly believe what you said
