last week at beginning yeah but gradually they get better.

we have to also note that MD is super competiitve these days, has always been since 2016. I dont or havent seen any favourite that gives me the confidence like Axelsen will win a title.

I think MD has the 2nd highest different winner (SS) since 2016 OG from 5 disciplines.

I didn't watch much of Game 3...did Yamaguchi get too tired and "give up" /concede the match point to ASY?

She was pretty much done in game 2. They were close at the interval but AY made 5-6 really unforced errors after that. She probably got a little kick from playing on the "good" side in the third and lead 7-4 but then was finished and produced more heavy errors. Interval was 8-11 down after 7-4 up.

Not really. Look at the matches she played so far.

If ay was really a great, she should have tried to take advantage of asy tiredness today. But then she is a really good player. Not a great.

I think most likely she lost motivation since she already won her previous tournament last week. You could tell that ay should have won last week match easily considering how exhausted asy was but it took only the 2nd half of the 3rd set for her to pulled away btw asy was already fully exhausted.

More likely that asy is tired but mentally she is just simply stronger then ay. You can tell ay is not as strong as asy mentally. Asy will be challenging for no 1 in around 6 months time.

I can see asy as a great to be honest

I really wanted to put money on ay to win but when I saw the determination on asy, I know she is not going to win this time.

Due to "illness"? But not all are sick, since one of each pair from the XD and WD teams are able to collect their 2nd place prizes
