Wow, Priyanshu won his qualifying round matches against some experienced opponents. R1 is going to be a real test for him.

I watched highlights of his both the qualifying matches. He has changed his game so much. He has inserted drops, deception, and most of all, his gripping technique.

Yeah, I find the order for Malaysia Open - India Open - Indonesia Master doesn't make sense. With 3 tournaments in a row, most likely players will choose either 1+2 or 1+3 (due to location proximity). But at the same time had BWF switched India Open with Indonesia Master, then India Open would be the one left behind by the top players

Even at their worst.. China still occupies top 3..so it doesn't matter if they took whatever time delaying strategy they want..sigh

This tournament is super 500 tournament whereas India open is super750 and players has to pay fine if they skip. So, they can afford to skip this tournament than India open.

Naraoka lost to Lakshya Sen in the battle of youngsters, in two straight sets at that. Perhaps his MAS open experience was too much in contributing to his fatigue.

I already told you. His game needs extremely demanding physique which he already spent it. So, I think he does not have that condition now.

I wonder if his injury from the AJC prior to Malaysia Open is still a factor? Perhaps he has reinjured himself, but is still trying to push through? Regardless, he needs to figure out how to consistently maintain his form

Indeed. Sen is also an underated stamina player as well, gets back a lot of shots.

Naraoka did not take part in the AJC, due to a knee injury sustained during the WTF. The injury could still be a factor, but as already mentioned, he does not have the most efficient of playing styles.

Sen also had an operation on September last year in his nose surgery due to some problem. After a break, his participation in 2 tournaments are not good enough as it takes match practice. His new coach Anup Sridhar( former player) said that he still did not recover.

IIrc, he already bent over to rest many times during the game against LKY. He did the same today and had the doctor/medical staff on in the second game to put ice spray on his lower back. Doesn't seem like the same injury.
