on a positive note. it was still a better outing for LZJ with all the early exits he had this past tournaments.

Shi Yuqi with a promising win against Lee Zii Jia. Already expected this kind of performance after beating Weng and Kunlavut easily.
As for LZJ, 2nd game shows no improvement whatsoever in confidence level.

Why does Shi always look tired? Its like no matter against who or what round it is, he looks out of breath, he still gets the job done though

    VA was sleeping.

Semis ok lo for lzj.. with current problem, cant expect much. Same as misbun pro days. If can win 1 or 2 tournament enough ady.

I think Antonsen very consistent so far. I foresee Antonsen to win.;)

It looks like he has no confidence in himself whatsoever, no passion, but he can still win if he tries hard. Maybe winning All England once again will remind him of that 'passion' in badminton.

Cmiiw but I always feel that besides the power and reach (due to his height), LZJ has nothing special. His footwork and skills look clumsy compared to other elite players. Even VA, who has similar height with him, move very smoothly and I rarely see VA lowers his gravity center a lot like LZJ for defence.

I agree, they make a very good pair, have chemistry and mutual understanding and rapport, and lots of potential, albeit still ample room for improvement - and that's a substantial advantage for a relatively young pair.

Certainly too premature to talk about splitting this combination based on just one less-than-stellar match or tournament. And mind you, they are already WR10 after forming their partnership a little more than a year ago. After all, it takes precious time for experience to grow and maturity to develop, and both elements are irreplaceable, priceless.

    That's how shi yuqi is,
often disappoints but when his day comes he is so strong and hard to beat.
And for LZJ, it's time to get rid of his ego...he needs a coach badly to assist and find solutions when he is stuck in the court.

Remember that lzj is still in limbo. Try to imagine if you are in his place. Also, he can't complain as he is getting more money from victor and lg. I will be laughing if I am him. He is no lcw and as long as he is in semis or qtr, the money is good enough for him. ;)

Unlike the Indonesian, Malaysian independent player is completely cut off from national body.
Setiawan-Ahsan still has the national coach and physio support at tournament even when they are already playing independently.

This privilege only applies to The Daddies.
Other INA independent players do not get it.
