The following video has made rounds and I just have to share it in here. Be prepared to get shocked and enjoy that amazing weaving technique: He makes it look so darn easy too, so I definitely have to give this a try myself.
Man, theoretically it makes sense! But then again, it also seems impossible at the same time.. (especially with sticky strings)
My goodness, that is so damn smooth...This is the goal/technique i need to aim for in cross weaving. This one improvement in technique can save a lot of time for stringers that are slow in cross weaving (ME!!)
Omg, that's truly god hand of stringing To be fair, I don't see/understand what he is doing differently as I am except his speed of course.
I know that when one do soft weave (weave one ahead), the offset of the main strings actually guides the cross string to the correct direction. But I have never seen it done so smoothly and quickly before. Truly magical technique.
So how has the progress been yet for those who have tried it? I clearly have made some progress but I'm still far, far from the speed seen in the video. It's quite interesting that you can indeed push the string through with a constant speed - you just have to trust the string to find the right way somehow. What helps: - The tip of the string should remain between the fingers and not stick out to the front - pull enough string through right after threading the starting grommet and before the actual threading process
I've had some luck but no good reproducible results. I'll try things in more different ways. My usual weaving method has the bottom finger perpendicular to the string, and doesn't have enough grip for this technique, parallel would be better, I think.
So far, I can only weave half the width of the racketn not consistenly and not with every string. It's impossible to do when my hand are sweating though xD
