    Hi, JR,

We have a local badminton club that has been just formed for a few months. Most of us are beginner or intermediate amateur level. We desperately want to improve our skills but paying for professional coaching is beyond our budget for the moment. Can you show some guidlines on how to do training for the badminton play, such as daily training for strength and flexibility, stretch ahead of game, foot work, and certain on-court training routes for developing different skills.

My understanding is badminton training can be done on court using specially designed routs/programs, just like those of Marshal arts.

    Regards.

    Hi mysword!

I must say this is difficult to show you through the internet. I think you should try to search the internet for programs regarding your different questions and areas. I´m sure that there is a lot of good advice and videos out there. Try youtube for videos or try to ask members here on badmintoncentral as they tend to have all kinds of badmintonvideos :D

I say this because the best way for me to show you different kinds of training methods would be to be there in person. Unfortunately, my schedule is quite filled up and it would require some money as well ;)

You can also find badmintonbooks on the subject.....I know I´ve been talked about such one alot, but I´m sorry to say that the project is dead as don´t have any contact with the original danish author or the translator that was supposed to do the english version.

I think your questions are too general for me to answer here as it would require a lot of time to answer.

I will say though that in order to improve your skills you should train 2-7 times in the hall a week and add 1-2 strength training passes and maybe 1-2 fitness(running/biking). But be sure to getsome advice first before you start practising so you can avoid injuries.

    Kind Regards

    JR

JR/LP beat the KOR(HJM/SBC) again! Wow!
He seems to know very much of the playing style of Korea.
