IMHO! They are over the hills better keep at home to spar with the junior!
Althougth they are no world beater but still a level or two higher than the juniors!

i actually wanna tell you to shuddup and dont act like you know it all cos you dont. im usually not so intense but you seem to act like you are misbun's boss or something who is reading his mind. ive posted in another thread before, a coach can only do that much to help the players. in the end, whether or not the players can produce results is totally in their control as they are the ones motivating to train and play.

I don't think you get what I mean. I don't blame Misbun one bit-it is the system and Misbun and all the others are unconnected cogs in a wheel. How old are you?

Size isn't one of the problem in badminton. Jung Jae Sung from Korea and Howard Bach from USA also have a same figure as Arif. Arif is a talented player and he start showing some progress by taking Taufik Hidayat to three in Singapore Open.

u have to know that JJS and howard is much much tougher than arif..and arif is quite small size and skinny..if he dun gain more weight he wont have the power to kill..no matter how skillful u r without the power is still very hard..

I think arif still really young and a guy still can grow til they are 21 so arif still got 3 more years and about toughness it's only the matter of time because you can start to do weights anytime and get tougher.Arif told me that "He is not allowed to do weights yet because he still young"...."Talent counts the most in this sport". Anthony Clark is also another example of a player that have a pretty small figure but he is in top 5 in the world for mixed and runners- up in Mixed and Doubles at all england 2006...

Errr...I think Anthony Clark is around his size and he is one of the top player too....And if i am not mistaken, LCW is skinnier than arif i think and he is also not that tall....and the most important is he is showing a progress by taking Taufik Hidayat to three...Trikus, i think he is shorter than Arif....And also, small doesnt mean not strong....Europeans have the size but they still lose to Asians that have a smaller body anyway....

    Size

I dont mean small size player cant succeed! But size does matters... you can give a few examples of short player succeed but on the majority of the players are at certain height.

Just look at MS, China shortest top player are LD at 178cm and usually MS dun get shorter than 170cm because this would hinder their reach!

It more obvious in WS, China choose their junior players base on height, as the 1st citeria!

It is obvious that height do give advantages. If 2 players are equally skillsful, fast, strong & stamina than height come into the picture.

I would like to see some small size player become world beater as well, as myself isnt that tall but we have to be realistic.

As for the latif boy, he is only 16. And at this age is the male start to grow. I think he would surely gain a few inches because we nowadays sport science, with the right diet and supplement they can really grow you! like Zico, Messi etc. But football team are extraaaaaaaa rich dunno Badminton got this kind of specialist & fund to monitor young player growth or not..

    Cheers:D
