Hmm.. (thanks for the pic)..he looks quite tall, almost as tall as his dad.. ..they should come back to the U.S. and strengthen the U.S. Junior squad...MAS already has a whole barn full of talented young players..
For MAS XD, I can easily think of: Tan Wee Kiong/Woon Khe Wei (obvious isn't it) Lim Khim Wah/Ng Hui Lin (runner-up at Kedah Open winner) MAD WD: Goh Liu Ying/Ng Hui Lin
WoW, so many candidates in that above list but who has really potential to become badminton STAR for future? Well, wait and see who will regularly set the headline of this sport next.
The son is good in badminton. Played with him once in the old system. I ate 0. Literally 0. But it was fun. No excuses.. ahhaa
I'd like to add.. ..if she hasn't been mentioned/added, the young Saina Newhal from India to the list..
Saina has to be in the list! I agree completely! Saina Nehwal has to be on the 'future stars' list! She already said that she wants to become the 2012 London Olympics WS Champ. She will be in her early 20s then... maybe 23... Saina have to beat Jiang Yanjiao, Wang Yihan, Wang Lin, and other future Chinese stars for that title.... Hopefully Maria Febe will be in contention too... [That's just my hope laaaah] But by 2012, INA shall have some other exciting WS, I can't say for sure Febe can compete against her younger rivals at that time.... Hey, nobody put Dyonisius Hayom Rumbaka for MS... Well, ok... I guess he hasn't won anything big internationally until today... He just won the MS Kalimantan Circuit... He is 19 [I think] and already the number 10-12 MS in Indonesia by now [if PBSI actually updates their INA rankings ]... By 2012, Hayom will be 23. Good age to be a contender...
Yannie, you are the "badMania & Sandy" of Euro-badminton.... I admire your knowledge of the Euro world... Thanks a lot for the info. I hope to see Europe producing more top stars... and I hope the news that Danish badminton won't see more stars after Peter Gade will not be true... Who said that... er, was it Svend Pri [or was in Erland Kopp]...
Actually when I went to watch this junior tournament, I heard many people saying that a boy called Victor from OBK (Odense Badminton Klub) will be the next Peter Gade.. But maybe too early to predict as he's only around 14.
Hows about any XD players from EURO emerging for the future? They are traditionally stronger in this events right? Wondering who will keeps the EURO Flags Flying on XD after the fabulous Gails Emms/ Nathan Robertson
Euro are always going to be good in XD... Emms-Robertson have not been fabulous this year... Btw, they just lost today in the 2nd round of Japan Open... But Euro will always produce good XD... It is one of the showcase/glamor event for them... I also wonder who will be their next stars in this category...
None so far from the Denmark Junior Team...but England Team might have some potential players like those I have mentioned earlier.
i think if wan be a gud player aso must have everything good....if not hard to performance for their country....
I think Zulfaldi is the brightest talent from the Malaysian Juniors. At age 14, he emerged as the Division 2 singles champion(recent Kedah Open) , beating all the Malaysian U-18 juniors and perhaps some of the National backup players.
Definitely.. My Frans have watched his game in KO07.. He is really awesome . Glad that MAS has produce endless pool of talented players
