can't be that far ahead. no business licence has been applied, either that, or the name isn't very obvious.
ohh ive heard of King of Courts....i thought it was just gonna be a new shop for kimoni and yonex stuff tho
Actually from what I've heard, there might be TWO new badminton facilities in the works. Both are in Richmond but I can't confirm at what stage municipality building approvals are in. Again this is what passes through my ears and the degree of truth is... well your guess is as good as mine. Both are supposed to be 10-court gyms. As for exact locations, I won't disclose those yet until further confirmation but if you have had your ears open, you'll have heard rumours flying around. Believe at your own discretion.
That's right outside where my office is!!! No way . . . I don't see it. But there is an excellent Cantonese BBQ place in the same spot.
Hey Pete, You sure you ain't converting your place into "Pete's Badminton Centre" Trust Kwun to know about King of Courts even though he's down in the San Fran area. I will try contacting them to see if they would be interested in Winex products too.
Me and PeterLSD just checked it out today... it's a Kimoni store. The place is pretty new and there's no hours of operation sign out yet.
Not sure. They're closed when we went there this afternoon. Maybe they'll be open Monday. As for pricing, I don't expect them to be too cheap comparing to other retailers. Might be cheaper than other mall retailers since they don't exactly locate in a walking traffic area. I heard good stuff about their kimoni grips and shoes, not sure about their racquets since I have yet to try them out.
Sigh...i got my hopes all up when i heard new facility and the idea of MAYBE having another facility besides VRC -.-
Assuming all this is true and they're opening one (or two?) more badminton center(s) in Richmond, I'm more interested in the model they'll be using i.e. will it be like VRC, with membership you pay annual dues for and can play at just about any time? Or will it be more like Richmond Pro and Yumo, where you pay to drop in only? If another VRC-like badminton center opened up in Richmond, I for one might think of giving up my membership at VRC and join the one in Richmond. Of course, I'm biased because I live in Richmond!
Growler, since they're at very preliminary stages at this moment, I'm not sure if they even know what model they'll be using. Possibly a combination of the both you mentioned? I think the parties are probably busy trying to tie up municipality red tape, etc etc. Talk to me when you're next at RichmondPro. Back to lessons with Kiran yet?
There is already a SOTX reseller located in the GVRD. This was two years ago so I'm not sure if it is still true http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=324337&postcount=3 but Rob is still listed as a reseller on IBUYSPORTS.com
