    Hi Guys,

Do anyone knows who among the current badminton players who are still playing in the circuit who has a better achievement than GAO LING?

Here are some of the data i have gathered on his achievement:

    Olympic Medals:
Mixed Doubles: Gold Medalist (2000 Sydney Olympics)
Mixed Doubles: Gold Medalist (2004 Athens Olympics)
Womens Doubles: Bronze Medalist (2000 Sydney Olympics)
Womens Doubles: Silver Medalist (2004 Athens Olympics)

    Worlds Championship:
    Mixed Doubles: Gold Medalist (2001)
    Mixed Doubles: Silver Medalist (2003)
    Mixed Doubles: Silver Medalist (2007)
    Womens Doubles: Gold Medalist (2001)
    Womens Doubles: Gold Medalist (2003)
    Womens Doubles: Silver Medalist (2005)
    Womens Doubles: Gold Medalist (2006)
    Womens Doubles: Silver Medalist (2007)

    Asian Games:
    Mixed Doubles: Gold Medalist (2006)
    Womens Doubles: Gold Medalist (2006)
Womens Team Event: Gold Medalist (2006)
    Womens Doubles: Silver Medalist (2002)
Womens Teams Event: Gold Medalist (2002)

    Sudirman Cup Team Event:
    Gold Medalist - 2001, 2005, 2007
    Silver Medalist - 2003

    Uber Cup:
    Gold Medalist- 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006

    ALL ENGLAND:
Womens Doubles Winner- 2001 up to 2006,
    Womens Doubles Semi-Finalist 2007
    Mixed Doubles Winner- 2001, 2003, and 2007

What a great achievement already! I think she wil be a Legend in Badminton.
I think the 2nd placer (player who still currently playing right now) is far far behind.

I think it would be between Yang Wei, Zhang Jiewen, Taufikit Hidayat, Huang Sui and Zhang Ning.
--all of them have Olympics and World Championship Gold Medals except Huang Sui
--but all of them dont have a ALL ENGLAND TITLE yet except Huang Sui who won 6 times and 3 World Championship 3 times.

    Any comment guys?

oops. wrong grammar. it should be "her". hehe.. i think the only thing she didn't win is the Womens Doubles Gold Medalist. But her achievement is already quite incomparable.

Now,their juniors, ZYW n her partner had defeated them a few times..

Yes, i think that is becoz Gao Ling also need to play in the mixed doubles department. This would put some disadvantages for them since GAO LING might be a little stressful if playing for a hard fought game both in the mixed and womens doubles event.

No one can hang with Gao Ling currently.

As for 2nd place, Taufik is not even close. :p It would have to be Tony Gunawan, Lin Dan, and Zhang Ning.

I really doubt it with YW/ZJW standing in her way! Just like others like ZN & TH dying for the All England Titles.

Let me make a prediction, GL will neither win WD nor XD in Beijing Olympics.

WOW, what a player she is

She now is a legend already. if she is retired, she will be one of the greatest badminton players of all time. No doubt about it.

As for the Super Series events started this year, she has won 8 titles:

    Women Doubles (with Huang Sui)
    MALAYSIA SUPER SERIES
    KOREA OPEN SUPER SERIES

    Mixed Doubles (with Zheng Bo)
    MALAYSIA SUPER SERIES
    KOREA OPEN SUPER SERIES
    ALL ENGLAND SUPER SERIES
    INDONESIA SUPER SERIES
    CHINA SUPER SERIES (1)
    JAPAN SUPER SERIES

What a GREAT job she has done !!!
And she can still get more achievement as she is currently active player.
