    My predictions:

    Day 2 of the action:

Park Sung Hwan vs. Lin Dan
Park has been ruthless in demolishing Wong Choong Hann yesterday, but he faces an uphill challenge from the reigning world champion and world number 1 'Super Dan'. While Park beat Lin Dan in this year's edition of the Malaysian Open, Lin Dan has been in invincible ever since, winning 4 Super Series Tournaments. However, after the dodgy second set by Lin yesterday against Kuncoro, it did put some doubts in my mind about this match. However, after Lin completely demolished Kuncoro in a 21-7 scoreline, I am confident that Lin will win this match. Lin Dan in 2 sets, unless Park has some special formula for beating Lin.

    Xie Xingfang vs. Tine Rasmussen
The current world number 1 faces up against Tine Rasmussen, the Japan Open champion, who upstaged Xie on her way to the Japan Open title. Xie will be eager to gain revenge here, and I believe she will succeed in doing so. Xie in 2 sets.

    Mew Choo vs. Anna Rice
After Mew Choo's shock victory against World Championship runner up Wang Chen, there is no doubt that she is playing at a confidence high. Anna Rice, the little known Canadian, probably won't pose a great threat to her. Wong in 2 sets.

    Have faith and aim high

Come on, Chong Wei is world #2 and Simon is ?? I am not saying Simon is not a good player but if Chong Wei can't even beat Simon then what hope do have to count on him on the Olympic 2008? Use to think meeting the Chinese is tough draw now Simon and Chan Yan Kit too? Either these two players have improved tremendously or we have lost faith on our ace
I think Chong Wei will storm into Semi Final, that's what I expect as he's playing near to his top form!

I will do one for Malaysian players.

KKK/TBH v Blair/Lindley - unfamiliar with Lindley; noticed a lot of changes in the English camp recently, especially the sharp increase of ENG/SCO partnerships; maybe for the sake of Olympics; remember there is no ENG or SCO in the Olympics, only GBR, and it is to GBR's interest if the best of ENG and SCO can form good partnerships.

CTF/LWW v Sun/Xu - is this the new CHN third MD; wonder what is happening to Shen/He.

Sairul v Boonsak - no chance

WMC v Anna Rice - what upsets by both these players yesterday; scoreline showed WC and Nedeltcheva could have been hampered by injury or something

Hafiz v Chan Yan Kit - Hafiz's defeat of Persson was a little surprising to me. Chan is not Hafiz's class, but it all depends on Hafiz's mood.

LCW v Simon - the best match today involving Malaysians; the Indo second-string players (Sony and Simon) have been showing improvements this past year; LCW too has bounced back from his WC setback; it's a good matchup.

Oh don't worry about that -- Simon will definitely be motivated, anyone playing the likes of LD or LCW will step up. It is like trying to knock someone off at the 'OK Coral' to become the 'fastest draw'.:D

The only reason why I did not think he will win is because he lost to Taufik in the Danish Open without too much fight (but maybe Taufik knows his game well).

    Wish I were in Paris.

I think his injury is not serious, as long as the game doesn't go into rubber then he will be OK. Simon strategy is simple, prolong the game and Chong Wei shall to the opposite. Lets see who can execute their game plan better.

Hey man, obviously you did not believe he had one.

Many people play with injuries, some injuries more serious others are recoverable. We still do not know how well he will be able to play. If he recovers then what we are saying is Simon will not have a chance.

And don't do insinuating questions like yours -- it shows the worse side of you.

At their levels, it is easier to prolong a match than to do the opposite. But Simon must think of his own fitness also.
