look like SS final will be a good preparation for MO08.. juz 1 week separate both tournament.. many of the top player will choose to stay at malaysia for training.. this is good for us,which waiting for exciting match clash.. SS final Jan 2-6 and MO08 Jan 15-20.. i think there is enough time for rest & more time to suite for the putra stadium. therefore i think almost all of the top 8 players will participate in.. except if they are injured or clash with other tournament in their own country.
I think the Chinese will come after the persuasion, after all SS final is more like a showcase than real competition hence injury is very unlikely to happen. Why not let the players have some fun and make some extra money by attending. It's Li Yongbo who's going to make the call and that makes thing easy by the corporation from local press, simply put up some nice praises of Li Yongbo and for sure when will nod his head Li Yongbo boleh!!!!

I think they are still seeking for sponsor. I think the grand event like this is more suitable in China as sponsors are plentiful. Long live badminton!
just browsewd through the official inhouse mag of Badminton India. the super series grand finale has been listed down for 22nd to 28th jan in KOREA..
The 2nd SS event of 2008 = Korea Open (22-27 January 2008) Hey Gaurav, You should know that the 2nd SS event of 2008 is the Korea Open (to be held in January 22-27, 2008). Could it be that the magazine (Badminton India) has got this event mixed up with the SS Finals of 2007 ? Cheers... chris@ccc
Ah... I agree that the SS Finals should be in China... But they have to drop China Masters as the China SS 1. Too many 'prestigious' events in one country is not healthy... Give a USA SS or Russia SS or an India SS... better for the whole sport...
I don't think china would be good as well, since the china open were just over few weeks ago.Need to change the place.Besides, ppl would afraid that the same incident happend again, the umpiring...How about Paris? But i don't think the prize money is actually enough to shop there..
