MS -- Maybe Boonsak or SDK. Both of them created impressive achievement once along this year. *Boonsak Ponsana was so powerful in SIN SS, early May 2007. The Thai Superman knocked out prime Chinese shuttlers, Lin Dan and Chen Yu to become winner here. *Sony Dwi Kuncoro top-form happened in KL WChamp', medio August 2007. He was so superb to defeat famous names such as Lee Chong Wei, Peter Gade and Chen Yu en route to last round. WS -- Wong Mew Choo has improved a lot as her world rank proves it. Now, she's standing at 8th position and let's see her next momentum to challenge the top-four Chinese quartet, Xie-Zhang-Zhu-Lu. Meanwhile Zhu Lin also has significant improvement in 2007, World Champion title is definitely the most important breakthrough in her bdm career so far.
Thank you my man for warding off Tommy! I hope Tommy has seen Kendrick in action during the recent SEA Games when he beat Sony and Boonsak, only to bow out to Olympic Champion Taufik in the final. Perhaps Kendrick can be considered as one of the most improved players in MS since he has also beaten World No 3 Chen Jin in the SO.
kendrick did impressed me by his looks.waah.so hot. his game?i think he will be better in '08.hes on the way. n only god know when will kendrick will show us the game. '08.showtime kendrick!!show us what do u have.
Most of the analyses in this thread seem to be pretty result-oriented - counting the number of titles won, etc. We should look at how one's skills, tactics, stamina, mentality, etc. have been improved. WMC is a great example. We have all witnessed the display of her world-beating quality during the China SS - something that we've never seen in her prior to 2007.
Absolutely agree. Sometimes, esp in sports, the results do matter. I definitely think WMC deserves the honour, as well as Kendrick Lee (after seeing him played against Boonsak and Taufik).
Skills and performance first, money will come eventually! If Kendrick can overcome his mental shortcomings, he will be on his road to a fortune just waiting for him in the Beijing Olympics! It is a pity that Kendrick let Taufik's fame overwhelm his own self-confidence. In the SEA Games individual finals, this weakness completely immobilized him and he was unable to repeat his fine performance against Sony and Boonsak before that. As it was said, beating Boonsak on home turf was a gigantic task, especially when Boonsak was able to beat Taufik in the team events. Yet against Taufik, Kendrick did worse than when they met in the team battle. Then Kendrick managed to take one game off Taufik but lost meekily in two games in the individual final. Maybe appearing in the finals gave Kendrick butterflies in his stomach. But he has appeared in some finals before, more recently the Dutch Open. Kendrick, if you want to be a champion, don't let name and fame frighten you. With your improved skills, hard work and determination, you should not be playing second fiddle! Get hold of yourself, believe in your own abilities and tell yourself you can match any professional anytime, anywhere!
