We said the same thing when Li Mao left abruptly but look at Chong Wei now, he's more resilient and mature. There's no doubt about Rexy coaching ability, is his leadership that is in question especially when comes to handling tasks off the court, is like a circus. Nobody wants Rexy to leave but he needs to control his emotion and shows the fan his charges are well prepared for Olympic. Players need constructive guidance, not destructive punishment.
Yes, we are all too emotional but guess who triggered this? :D

As I replied to Azabar, LCW took 6 months to recover (Jan to June 07 by winning IO). LCW was devastated when Li Mao left, he even comtemplated quiting.

We only have 8 months till OG - Rexy leaving will of course distrupt them, the players mental state & all. Imagine what the players will feel, esp the young pairs.

Using the press to send messages are what they stimes do - to silence the trouble makers so can concentrate on training.

Maybe Li Mao thought there is no way to improve LCW's mental strength except some abrupt blow. Now Rexy is doing the same to KKK/TBH. :D

    Good Luck

    Rexy,

All the best in your next undertaking.

I hope you will take up coaching a country that is developing badminton at the early stage.

    Anyway, thanks for the memories.

wow it is sad to hear that Rexy is leaving Malaysia...To ensure that the MD competition is interesting....Rexy should go to Thailand....Thailand has potential MD players...Anyway...I wish him all the best in his future endevor and wish Malaysia have a replacement of Rexy calibre.

What make u said that using the press is the right channel ?
U hardly read on Japanse news from Park Joo Bong Comments or Korean press on Li Mao statements
Is that right for a coach always publishly critized his own players

Since Li Mao statement, this administration tension is out in the open. I don't they they'll fix it. Rexy has done great for Malaysia badminton. Whoever gets him will definitely benefit from his enthusiasm in Coaching. Now the question is will the standards of Malaysia badminton go into the drain? Not an easy feat to emulate like what was achieved in 2007.

This is the best news I've heard in 2008!

Rexy quitting?!? This is fantastic news! :D

Rexy, move back to Jakarta, ....PBSI will fire Herry IP and make you our 2nd MD Coach! :D

Or coach one of the clubs... your old club, Tangkas, or maybe Jaya Raya or Djarum...

It will be too late to find a replacement coach in MD preparation towards OLYMPICS
worst come to worst, YKH will becoming the coach himself. Which will be more terrible :(

Come on Rexy come home to us....Its time you are Indonesian after all!!!! Especially after how MAS government mistreat us Indonesians..........Its time you come back to us.......

It would be good here because Rexy can use Tony Gunawan or Halim Haryanto as his assistant...if he can raise the standard for MAS I think he can certainly do it for INA

Again, another clueless post. Yawn. Look at how Kido/Hendra improve last year under Sigit Pamungkas.

Sorry if my statement sounded so. I didnt say it's the right thing to do & I dont agree with what they do either, posted so in other threads - even asked Ants to tell Rexy to tone it down. I also know you dont like all the drama like thingy.

I'm saying that's what they do(officials, coaches, etc), at times, can see the veiled messages. I actually like Misbun's quiet style, only when he's provoked he says sthing (or reporters bugging him too much).

Somehow a lot of the players dislike Herry I.P., including the current World Champs Kido-Hendra. I was never coached by Herry, so I don't know... but nobody ever described him as a genious. Most MD athletes that I met despise him. Those who don't have anything bad to say about him, does not have anything good to say about him either.

If Rexy want to take the pay-cut and coach for INA, we should welcome him immediately! ;) :D
