How many courts Planet Badminton was able to show? 1, 2 or 3? What if you wanted to watch one particular match, which was not shown on the streaming?

But at least it's the main court that I am interested in, Taufik/LCW and WMC/HHY is playing on the TV court.

is it bcoz of too many strong player in a same country?
for CHN, their women singles all very good but now not so..
for MAS, their men doubles also used to b vry good but now not so..
is it a factor tat too many strong players in a same team will drop ur lv down?

It's a good thought. Definitely a possibility. When Chn has so many good WS players, they started to leave and play for other countries too. What puzzles me the most is the fact the good players in other countries are all singular. WC in HK, WMC in Mas, Tine in Den, and Xu in Ger, but yet most of them were able to beat multiple Chn WS players in a succession. More often than ever, Chn WS players managed to succumb to some less known players. This is the second time XXF lost in the first round since the second half of last year, and ZN is only ruining her reputation by playing. In my opinion, if LYB does not bring Chn players back on top, he could be seen as THE problem and liable to lose his job as head coach after OG 08.

The 5:30pm start time (UK) is perfect for me. That translates into 9:30 am on the North American west coast.

I'm pretty excited about the WS QFs, seeing some new faces and the absence of many familiar ones, notably the CHN contingent. I'm sure each of the 8 players, each representing a different flag, must really fancy their chances now. My calls:
    Hwang over WMC
    Tine over Pi
    Lu Lan over Wang Chen
    Xu over Hirayama

I think the MS QFs will be quite predictable.
    LD over KJ
    BCL over Persson
    CJ over Sony
    LCW over Taufik

In MD, there are only three seeds left, all in the bottom half. I call:
    Lee/Hwang over Njoto/Wiratama
    JR/LP over Ikeda/Sakamoto
    CTF/LWW over Alvent/Luluk
    LYD/JJS over Masuda/Ohtsuka

WD remains the stronghold of the CHN army. Will be hard to stop them.
    Zhang/Wei over Greysia/Jo
    Du/Yu over JPN Cuties
    Lee/Lee over GL/ZTT
    Yang/Zhang over Cheng/Chien

Wide open in XD. In fact, the remaining CHN pairs could conceivably be knocked out.
    ZB/GL over LYD/LHJ
    Clark/Kellog over Xie/Zhang
    Emms/Robertson over Blair/Bankier
    Nova/Butet over He/Yu

    That's a very interesting observation.
For CHN, it's possibly the SS draw format that does the greatest damage.
Before SS, the top seeds get protected from playing a strong player until the QF.Because CHN MS and WS have at least 3 top players, they are able to form a 'relay team' with coach guidance to win a title. The non-CHN opponent not only have no relay team support but also have to stop their opponent from progressing. So usually the non-CHN player has to put in at least 50% more effort to win a title.
With the SS, top players have to 'get dirty ' from R1 and get used to meeting strong opponents all the way. That's like asking someone who used to win a 200m race to win a 800m.And the chance for CHN to form 'relay teams' is probably down to 30% compared to 100% before. So CHN's having a hard time. What makes it worse is non-CHN players have improved dramatically but I would say the SS draw format is the quicksand for CHN.
With MAS MD, it seems like player anxiety's unintentionally created when they have to compete for SS opportunities and those that missed out are regarded more like sparring partners.
That's like the Spore system: All trained up and nowhere to compete because players gotta reach 'a certain standard' otherwise will be wasting money.Problem is, in sports , bleeding must occur before beaming is possible.
The nice part about the MAS problem is that it's internal so they can fix it easily. The coaches need to listen and know the players wish list and their opinions on how they can do better.MAS MDs are talented, motivated and not afraid of hard work. They need the freedom to experiment ,even if it means losing, because that's the richest way to learn to win, when they can afford it.And right now, can't they still afford it?
For CHN, their problem is external: They can't change the SS draw format and they can't stop non-CHN players from improving. Not much they can do about that except wish for luck.

What a schedule to start at 5:30pm UK time (1:30am Malaysian time). Why can't they start much earlier? So ppl can come after work? Okay, understandable.

I am so gutted about Tony and Candra, I missed seeing them last year and have been so excited about seeing them since I booked my tickets about 9 months ago. I am going up today but am going to miss them again. I just want to cry! :crying:

I am mainly going to see the MD as that is my favourite even and almost all the top players have gone out.:crying::crying::crying:

I have been so excited about going for weeks, but now I am just gutted! :(

Yeah I know, and there are still 2 English pairs in the XD.
I'm sure I will still have a fantastic time.
I guess I am just destined never to see Tony and Candra.
Cai and Fu and KKK and TBH are also out, I guess I will have to find someone new to cheer for! :p
