I remember now the REAL reason. It's because BAM messed up LCW's preparations by asking him to help in some elections.Like play MD with some political spinner. When are they gonna learn to say 'no'? Easy. Just bring up this example and said it cost MAS two MS titles. 'IF LCW helps out and lose 2 titles, you answer to NSC and Sports Minister, Ok?' 'Err..In that case ,better not, better don't play, play.'

Not too bad IMHO, compared to couple of years back (in MD, XD at least). We just need to expose the young pairs to more international events.....

    In MD, we have:
    Kido/Hendra (still only 23)
Rian/Yoke (hopefully they can rise up to top 10 this year)
Fran/Rendra (not sure...but at least top 16 should be accomplished)
    Bona/Ahsan
    Wifqi/Afiat

    In XD:
    Rijal/Grace
    Tantowi/Yulianti

it's scary to imagine what KOR MD will be like if PJB goes back to KOR. if he performs there like what he's doing with the JAP team, wow, they will really dominate the scene ....

JJS/LYD dashed the hopes of cooler and Maximum finishing on top in PAWing. Congratz to Miss Ipoh.

The Koreans are amazing considering they have been playing for 3 back-to-back tourneys plus LYD is playing both MD & XD.

I am not too disheartened...considering our dismal record in Europe

Remember, Kido/Hendra only reached QF and SF in Denmark and French Opens respectively. This time round, a Final against the much-improved All-England Champions. Too bad about the defeat, but, another match experience gained for the pair and Mas Sigit Pamungkas to prepare them better for the Olympics.

The key titles this year are the All-England and Olympics, plus the Thomas Cup (if possible). AE was gone last week....now for the big one....

at this rate, they could well challenge CHN's hegemony a couple years down the track

    i hope so.
i think it's tragic that KOR and DEN have never won the TC.
no disrespect to the winners in the past of course, but for these 2 teams who have such a outstanding tradition of great badminton not to have won the TC is ..... well .... tragic is the only way i can describe it.

Nooooo, cannot give that reason, means LCW is "mentally weak" lah. If he's mentally strong enuf, anything happen also cannot distract him. No excuse allowed at all. ;)
KKK/TBH's case, the politician was critised by opposition party. From then on, no political related activities for MD players he he.
Dont think there'll be any more for LCW either, change of ruling party for his state.:D
