I think badminton is and should remain as an individual sport. You dont see any other racket sport involving coaches as much. The world body should reconsider banning the coaches from the sideline like they used to. For crying out loud, its not a football match.

The fact that they always turn to Rexy during the match highlights the weakness in their game. A case of lack of confidence/self belief? I dont think so, not after winning 3 Super Series title already.. beating top pairs along the way. Their reliance on their coach is too much.. They need to be a self sustainable pairing like Cai Yu & Fu Haifeng. But yes, as many have pointed out such as Datuk Eddy they are still young. Then again Muhd Hafiz was young too when he won the All England 4 years back. Nothing much have inproved since then. Hopefully success dont get into their heads. I also think long term partnership is also important like Tan Fook-Wan Wah.

    Well spotted munnyface

Agreed. That should make them dig deep and think more for themselves.

Nonetheless, as much as the players should cut down on their reliance on their coaches, I think the coaches should also try to let the players play their game without getting so involved, because it takes two to tango. Was watching the Ina Open MD Final last week and saw Rexy and Pang (I think that's his name, apologies if I got it wrong) doing the same with Zakry and Fairuzizuan. I wouldn't blame the players if they keep turning back because hey, if the coach were to give you pointers throughout the match, tak kan one chooses not to heed, right?

Just hope they don't make this a habit. I can imagine how hard it is to keep mum when you see your players make school boy errors or whatnots, but they've got to draw the line, somewhere.

    Kedah Open!!!

In Malaysia, I really dont know when it comes to standards. I mean, our KKK/TBH just got nicely trounced in the early round in both the AE & SO. Prior to that, they also got packed away by some makeshift Korean pair. BUT now, the papers are saying KKK/TBH despite the beatings in AE & SO have a chance to prove themselves in the coming Kedah Open. Kedah Open!!!???

Seriously, when I saw that statement, I nearly fell down from my chair. Honestly, are we saying if KKK/TBH wins that Kedah Open, we can say they are now back on track to take that gold in Beijing??? Is that Kedah Open up there with AE or SO???

It is beyond sad that we are deluding ourselves.

CTF/LWW & Fairuz/Zakry didnt participate in the so-called NATIONAL GRAND PRIX? If kkk/tbh cant grab the champion then do what Rexy said - Replace them with Fairuz/Zakry.

If KKK/TBH win then the press will put the word - ''KKK/TBH IS BACK IN BUSINESS!'' or ''BEIJING GOLD IS IN KKK/TBH'S HAND!''

I wonder WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL if they became champion in the national grand prix? They should be the champion since they're the best MD pair in MAS, according to the world ranking.

If they cant win it, i dunno where they want to put their face lar......

I know it sound funny if we say olympic gold medal is in their hand when the ywin local tour.Thats ridiculous.
How to compare pro n amateur then?

But theres nothing wrong with appreciate their work.
Not to spoiling them with fancy words.praises them with all shakespeare poems.No_Of course not.
Good to remember,Having cynical support wont help too.

If cant do it locally, how to win at international stage? It's only local player participate in. There is no pairs in MAS r in KKK/TBH'S level at this moment. We know they r AE CHAMPION, ABC CHAMPION.

CTF/LWW also facing problem sometimes ago but they manage to overcome the problem and at their age, we cant demand so much. But their consistency r there.

So why cant KKK/TBH cannot. Seems that all ppl r fingering at KKK now for the failure of producing good results. But what abt TBH? They r teammates.

Fashions r jewellery is not the main point of what we r discussing here. Party?women? As I know, EPL superstars and other kacang putih players also partying or clubbing and some of them even involved in *** scandal..how to say?But they r producing. Should we say that if u can manage to show good results, then u can do whatever u like outside the court?Don't forget, u r a professional player. What is PROFESSIONAL stands for?

I'm curious do MK/HS, LD, etc get these kind of fanatical fans? If I was a pro athelete I'd be scared of such fans myself, wanna run far far away. :D

Really I dont see why pro atheletes should be treated any different from a typical employee. If they aren't producing the boss should be grilling them...doesn't matter if they were last month's employee of the month. If they're really successful at their job they get raises, bonuses and praises all around..when they don't they have to answer to someone. A pro athelete should be no different. If they produce the fans sing their praises, if not they face the music..its really simple. As a pro athelete they should already understand that otherwise stick to amateur level..ala go back and play in the kampung.

LD acting like an amateur in korea open and didnt get what he ''deserves'' by the authority. Even LYB also defending him. Is this what we call a professional? In this case, LD is treated differently.
