who cares if they smoke, they are awsome at badminton. and no, smoker or non smoker, you can still be a good person...what the hell, this topic is getting stupid!
When I was very young. I asked my dad once why he started smoking.... He said that the guy riding the horse in the cowboy advertisement looked cool while smoking a cigarette. And this was true... back 40+ year ago... It didnt influence me to smoke. Then many years later, when I was in A levels, I asked why my friend smoked? he said, give me a few more years and I will know... I guess it meant he was unable to cope with the pressure he's facing so a smoke offered a way out. This statement didnt influence me to smoke. I think another reason is that the people rebel deep inside themselves and then make stupid decisions on the outside... but that doesnt mean they r bad... so give the smokers a chance... you might learn a thing or 2 from them. Please dont get me wrong... It doesnt meant all the non smokers are set for heaven either... so be wary... haha Now I'm 33 and I'm still not smoking or drinking... but playing the best badminton of my life... I think it was worth it.... but have to confess that I drink more on occasions nowadays... maybe once in a few 2 months... haha

Ardy BW is an ex indonesian players..famous at the early 90s.He's quite short for an MS player.More of like XXZ..haha.I never seen him play though,but i heard my coaches said he's a very good player back then.He's migrated to US.
This is an addition.Who cares if he smokes r not..as long as he's happy to smoke n nobody forced him to.Besides,he's still one of the best player out there..

a public figure can smoke (as does anybody else) they hearts out as long as they dont do it next to a person who does not appreciate the second hand smoke and would not like to share the possibility of getting cancer. what anybody do in the private of their homes and to their body is their prerogative.
agree 75%... smoking is still a part of human right (in indonesia) anyway .. you will never find TH smoking in public area/in front of PPL ...
